Besøg Akropolis og Parthenon. Normalt vil du fortsætte først med et besøg på Akropolis, der varer ca. 80 minutter, hvor du vil se alle templerne, teatre og tilhørende bygninger som den monumentale gateway (Propylaea), Odeon of Herodes Atticus, Temple of Athena Nike, Erechtheum og selvfølgelig Parthenon.

Bygget i det 4. og 5. århundrede f.Kr. i en naturlig amfiteater o i skråningerne af Akropolis det ville have haft en imponerende kapacitet på 25000, det betragtes som verdens ældste. Fantastisk at tænke på, at mange af de mest berømte antikke græske plader ville have haft deres oprindelige premiere her!
Stiger mod den monumentale port (Propylaia) og indgangen til Akropolis. Da Akropolis-templerne kommer i betragtning, ville de gamle grækere have været mødt af en enorm dekoreret bronze-statue af gudinden Athena. Som legenden siger, kunne spidsen af hendes opretholdte spyd ses af indgående skibe i sollyset.
Bygget omkring 420 f.Kr., og et af de tidligste templer i Akropolis, var dette klassiske joniske tempel dedikeret til gudinden Athena og er stort set restaureret, med en fremtrædende position med udsigt over byen.
Dette tempel, som var toppen af den "gyldne tidsalder" i det klassiske Grækenland, var et uovertruffen mesterværk af kunst, arkitektur og teknik samt hjertet af den antikke græske ceremoni og tilbedelse i Athen. Vi tager tid på dette vigtigste tempel med en oversigt over dets konstruktion, mytologi og historisk betydning.
Det næststørste tempel i Akropolis, Erechtheion blev dedikeret til både Zeus og gudinden Athen og din guide vil belyse nogle af dens vidunderlige mytologi og vigtigste aspekter såsom dens imponerende statuer, som du nu vil se i museet.
Bygget i år 161 e.Kr. af Herodes Atticus til minde om sin kone, fortsætter dette fantastiske marmor amfiteater som et fungerende teater til i dag.

Our tour guide Betty was highly professional and managed our time most efficiently. As a native Athenian licensed in History of Art, she combined knowledge, practical experience, teaching skills, and a clear pride in the past of her beautiful city. Private guide is absolutely the best way to do the Acropolis tour. The guide added good info in the museum but would be ok without. She was very knowledgeable and wonderful to us, but her interactions with a few strangers where she tried to correct their behavior at points during the tour made my teens uncomfortable as they did not like the attention on us. For the most part she was doing so to get people to move so we could have a better experience but we are not people who like to make a fuss. Would recommend the tour and company but not sure I would recommend this particular guide unless you don’t mind how outspoken she was to others.

We just came back from our excursion and it was just amazing! The tour of the Acropolis and the Acropolis museum was so interesting and our guide, Effie, was amazing! She not only was extremely knowledgeable but she made it fun for the kids in our group. Petros, our driver was awesome too. He picked us up on time and was so nice. On the city sightseeing portion, he explained everything and it was so interesting. I highly recommend this tour especially with the car. Really fantastic!

Our tour of the Acropolis and the museum went very well. We met at the intended place right on time. Our guide was experienced and knowledgeable. She is an archeologist and educator, and it showed in the depth of her knowledge of the history of the place and its people. The pacing was good, though we could've spent more time and had more detail in the museum. Also, it would be nice to just have the tickets included in the pricing, rather than have to arrange for them separately.
