4-dages Salkantay Trek

We had a wonderful trip with Elias and Jimmy. They both were so accomodating and their hospitality was second to none. They made sure we were well looked after at all points of the day, and had good chats and banter with the group even though English was their second language. We had really great meals when the food was fresh and the veges and fruit were plentiful. We were a bit guttered that there was no jacuzzi as advertised and we didn’t make it to the springs but it didn’t dampen the trip too much. The hot water bottles on the first night were the best touch as it was incredibly cold at first camp.

An amazing experience! Me and my partner were lucky enough to have Lizandro as our tour guide who was just lovely, happy, helpful, patient and overall brilliant. The tour itself was great with amazing food and the chef was lovely too. It’s early starts and long walking days(I personally think you need to be quite fit to do it and train). But you are able to get early nights and relaxed evenings. I’d recommend bringing lots of cash. If or maybe when we do this again I’d definitely go with this company and ask for Lizandro! I’d say the price is good with amazing accommodation, 3 meals, repose there and back, and circuit 2 of Machu Picchu.

Me and my partner had the best time doing the salkantay trek to Machu Picchu. All of the accommodation exceeded our expectations, with comfortable, clean rooms and hot showers! Our chef, Matias, cooked something different everyday and it was all fresh and delicious. Our guide Lisandro was very friendly, professional, and fun to be with. He also really looked after me when I was unwell. We will remeber this trip forever. Thank you!!

I traveled with a friend to Peru and we hired the 5-day tour to Machu Picchu via Salkantay. Our guide was Elías Usca. He and his group were essential to reach our destination. Elías provided us with constant information about the different sites we visited and always had an excellent attitude. The food was delicious, varied, and abundant. The accommodation was very comfortable, with good hot showers and comfortable beds to recover. The trip is beautiful, but physically intense, and without their help, it would have been impossible. Take the 5-day tour with Elias Usca in June 2026. It was an incredible experience! A real challenge, but worth every penny. The landscapes, the food, the accommodations… everything was excellent! Thanks to the team, the porters, and especially to the guide for their patience and warmth. I highly recommend it!

Such a great experience, really recommend, luxury at such a good price, walks were stunning and not too horrible whilst still being beneficially challenging.

My wife, daughter and I trekked the Salkantay Trail and Machu Picchu with Sam Travel. We highly recommend Sam Travel/Orange Nation. Our guide, Washington, was professional, highly knowledgeable, and encouraging throughout the hike. The accommodations exceeded our expectations, offering comfortable beds with clean showers and bathrooms. Chef Porfidio consistently amazed us with excellent local dishes, while our horseman, Pierro, ensured all of our gear and supplies were safely transported. We had a great trek through the Andes supported by a very friendly and dependable team.

We did the salkantay trek (5D/4N) with the visit of the Machu Picchu. Our guide Carlos was really excellent, he has so much Knowledge about the Fauna, Flora and Inca History and was always very attentive, kind and motivated. Our cooks, Mathias and Cyrillo, were also really really good. The food was so tasty, we always had something different and diverse and they were both really friendly. We really recommend this agency, everything was really well organised and professional

Guide: Carlos Estrada Incredibly eye opening experience though I do wish I had acclimated prior to starting the hike (the first two days were pretty rough due). Carlos and his team were great and incredibly accommodating. From portering our excess luggage to each campsite, cooking our meals, guiding obviously, and even giving us a wake up call with a cup of coca yea, he and his team were amazing. Our trip ended with a pretty comprehensive and educational guide around Machu Picchu (circuit 2) as well and I found this one of the most engaged experiences I had. My one point of improvement would have been to adapt the pace a bit depending on the group. Some in our party were incredibly fast while others had some trouble keeping up. While not overly far behind, it was sometimes a little stressful feeling like you were holding everyone back.

I am very glad to sign up the trip with SamTravelPeru. Edwin Arqque was our guide. He is very knowledgeable, well organized and takes care of everyone with patience. I was way behind of other teammates on the second day hike and Edwin was always there waiting for me, encouraging me, reminding me taking breaks until I made summit. Nevertheless the chef and porters were working so hard and taking care of our team with each meal, morning tea, warm water for cleaning.
