När solen går ner över floden Arno går du över till Oltrarno, den lugnare delen av Florens som lokalbefolkningen aldrig lämnade. Din Guide tar dig med in i ett hundraårigt fiaschetteria för lokalt vin tillsammans med tallrikar byggda på toskansk cucina povera, ut till ett vinfönster som fortfarande används exakt som det var i Florens pestår, och in i en deli där den självutnämnde kungen av Ost låter dig prova hans bästa pecorino- och parmigianoostar. Det är en negronilektion i en historisk vinbutik, en långsamlagad gryta till ditt supertoskanska vin och en glassfinish från butiken Florentines röstade fram sin egen favorit. En liten grupp, och sex eller sju noga utvalda stopp.

Elissa was a fantastic guide to the Oltrarno! She clearly had wonderful relationships with the shops and restaurants, told fantastic stories about the products and the neighborhood, and showed us a wonderful time. Communication with Eli was very easy in terms of finding the meet up spot. I would take this tour again!

Fantastic tour of some of the more hidden gems in Florence, on the “other side of the river”. Great to experience a range of foods and wines from the region with a hugely knowledgeable host, small group and feel part of the city, not just a tourist. Catered well for non dairy eating parts of the group too, no mean feat in a world of all pasta and cheese!!!

We had our tour with Elisa, who had a fantastic knowledge of all things food and wine in Florence. The wine itself was outstanding, and we really enjoyed getting to experience a number of different local spots along the way. Despite the heat, the walking between each stop was very easy and relaxed. Elisa was a great host and made the whole experience really enjoyable.
