Foto Stop: Drakenstein Prison. 1982 överfördes Mandela från det maximala säkerhetsfängelset på Robben Island, en liten ö i Table Bay, till Pollsmoor-fängelset i Tokai, Kapstaden. Därifrån flyttades Mandela till det dåvarande Victor Verster-fängelset den 9 december 1988, där han bodde i ett privat hus inne på fängelseområdet. Victor Verster, ett gårdsfängelse, användes ofta som en språngbräda för att frige politiska fångar med lägre risk. Mandela avtjänade ytterligare 14 månader i Victor Verster (nu kallat Drakenstein) fängelse tills han släpptes den 11 februari 1990. På dagen för hans frigivning omringade reportrar från hela världen fängelset och gav fängelset världsomspännande publicitet.

Horea was an excellent guide, friendly, informative, funny. Robbie was good too. The transportation was comfortable and the sites we visited were good. Lunch was tasty and there was a variety of choices . The only area for improvement I could identify is the availability of some sweet wine choices.

Our tour guide was terrific. The scenery was stunning. All the wineries were gorgeous and lunch was delicious. I thought the wines we tasted were dreadful. I had prenty of delicious SA wines in restaurants in Cape Town. I don't know why wineries would bring out their worst for a tasting.
Amazing time! Our guide was superb, had a great time during the drive and at the vineyards. Recommend it 10/10. You get to see and be in some beautiful landscapes.

Excellent visit to three wineries with various wines and pairings. Paul (tour guide) shared a lot of interesting facts as we drove, and Tando was a good driver. Overall very good value for the cost. Lunch was extra, but large portions for low cost. It was a plus to visit the prison where Nelson Mandela finally obtained his freedom. I highly recommend this tour.

Brilliant experience picked up on time at the waterfront and then headed to the wine farms and the tour quide gave us a talk about all the vine yards and the history and the local areas we were in very knowledgeable. Also visited the area where Nelson Mandela did the long walk to freedom and saw the staue of him . Also had a 25min walk round stallenbosh where we was also spoken to about the history of the buildings and area. We brought food at one of the vineyards and it was beautiful . Would recommend been a lovely day.
