VipDolphins Luxury Whale Watching

Perfect, from the moment we boarded the Catamaran. The crew were extremely hospitable, making sure we were well looked after and enjoying the experience. The crew also knew where to go to see the whales and dolphins, and their knowledge of the area meant success. The snacks and drinks added to the enjoyment, as did the swimming directly from the back of the boat and beautiful sunset. There are many choices for this type of trip, we wanted a luxurious boat, kind and experienced crew and to escape the crowded boats with something more intimate. My research brought me to VIP dolphins, and we made the right choice in booking this excursion.

The VIP Dolphin and Whale tour made for an incredible welcome to Madeira. We booked for our first night after landing from the US. We saw a Bryde’s whale and a ton of dolphin and got to swim in the ocean, all of which helped energize us and fight jet lag. The boat is really nice and very comfortable. It’s awesome to go with a small group and have space to spread out. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They even took pictures during the event and shared after, so we have a keepsake from the excursion.

10/10 experience! Got to see pods of dolphins with their babies. Had awesome snacks and drinks! Fun attentive staff and an awesome captain. Really enjoyed this tour being small group, the other catamarans pack people on like sardines. If you’re booking a dolphin catamaran this is the one. Brought us to an awesome swimming spot, then sailed away from the sunset.

We loved this, it was definitely a highlight of our visit to Madeira. We had so much space to ourselves (Grandmother, Mother and two daughters), even though there were several other people on the boat. The hospitality was perfect as everything we needed was provided, from delicious snacks and drinks to towels and even the offer of a room onboard to get changed in after a swim in the sea. It was really magical to be up close to the family of Pilot Whales gliding alongside us. Thank you to the captain and crew for a wonderful memory from our holiday.

A truly genuine experience. Everything was perfect, snack, drinks and the ever so serviceminded crew. We saw many dolphins but were also lucky to see a Bryde’s whale come to the surface 4 times. Once in a lifetime experiance.

Fabulous experience, I would highly recommend this company, especially if you do not want an overcrowded boat and a more personal experience. The crew were very knowledgeable and helpful and we were lucky enough to see both dolphins and pilot whales and our trip. Nice selection of beverages and snacks were offered as well. I would definitely do this trip again.

We booked this as our kids get easily sea sick and we wanted to maximise our chances of seeing the whales and dolphins- what a beautiful boat - stable so our kids were happy, but the morning we had was phenomenal- schools of dolphins racing the boat, a whale close up and in all around seven whales periodically coming for air around the boat - wow - we got exactly what we wanted and more - The Beard Family

It was amazing trip during which I saw dolphins and a whale very close to the yacht. I really liked the crew, especially the lovely Francesca, who treated us to snacks and drinks, took photos and was very charming. The captain skilfully steered the yacht, whilst the steward told us lots about the marine life and the island.

We got really lucky and saw an entire family of dolphins including a baby!! It was such a great experience and the crew really cared about everyone’s well being. There’s bathrooms on board if you get sick as well.

Everything was very easy to find, and after receiving our tickets, we were picked up and guided to the boat. The boat itself was very clean and spacious, and since there were only 17 people on board, it felt private and relaxed compared to larger tours. Before departure, everything was explained clearly, and we were welcomed with a glass of prosecco. Throughout the trip, the crew regularly offered drink refills and a variety of beverages, along with snacks. The service was excellent. During the tour, we saw dolphins, a flying fish, and even a whale. The crew explained what we were seeing and shared interesting background information. They were friendly, professional, and even took photos of us, which were later sent for free via email. We also had time for a swim and ended the trip with a beautiful sunset. Overall, a fantastic experience that is definitely worth the money, especially during high season.
