The first part of the tour was very interesting and great. After we had free time for lunch and was given a meeting place our guide or other participants were not there. We were also early. So half of the actual tour was a loss. We looked forward to this as it was the first time in Venice. VERY DISAPPOINTING.
Very long walking day but Rita our guide gave us moment to rest. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Took care of her group by asking how we were regularly.
What a fantastic tour. Eliza was an amazing tour guide and provided so many historical facts. I have been to Venice before but learned so much. Highly recommended.
Given that the temperature was gigantic, the guide and the tour group did a great job. I really enjoyed the tour and learned a lot. Sylvia we as out guide and she was very knowledgeable. It was a great, long day.
Great experience. You get to see most things in Venice with this tour. The gondola ride was my favorite
Our tour was excellent. The guide had so much knowledge of everything we saw and kept the tour very interesting. We skipped the gondola ride because it was so hot and where the gondolas left from the seas were rough. I only wish they had chosen a spot to get on the gondolas that was in a canal, not open water. I learned so much about Venice. I would definitely recommend this tour.
The guide we had was so good . She was so excited to tell us all abt Venice and stories to keep it interesting. Overall an amazing experience.
Very good history of St mark Basilica and Doge Palace and The Rialto Bridge. I enjoyed going to the jail under the Doge palace.
First, one of the guides was sick and they combined our group with another and we were 17 at that point. Was disappointed in the amount of time spent in St. Mark's and entering with a group that size was a problem especially as we were given no direction as to where to wait once we entered. We were in , we were out. No balcony for our group. The trip to Rialto bridge was good. And seeing the daily markets of fruits, vegetables and fish was a treat. We then went back to St Mark's Square to take our gondola ride. One group went to one gondola and our group went to another. After the gondola ride we were on our own for lunch and we had to ask where and when to meet our guide again after that. The guide wasn't very forthcoming with that information. He also walked too fast for some of the people on our tour and had to keep stopping to gather everyone. After lunch we met at the designated place and were informed that our guide was still sick and our groups would be combined again with the same guide we had before. Not thrilled. Next was Doge's Palace. The guide was very informative and we did see everything on the itinerary. But with 17 people, it was a little much and I kind of felt sorry for the guide having that many people to handle.
Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to share your honest feedback with us. We are glad to hear you enjoyed the Doge's Palace portion of the tour, loved seeing the vibrant Rialto markets, and had a good experience at the Rialto Bridge and on your gondola ride. We do want to apologize for the inconvenience and confusion caused when our morning guide fell ill. Combining two smaller groups into one group of 17 was a last-minute adjustment made to ensure everyone could still experience their scheduled tour, as entrance tickets to venues like St. Mark's Basilica and Doge's Palace are booked far in advance for set time slots. However, we completely understand how a larger group size and a rushed pace at St. Mark's impacted your experience, as well as the frustration caused by a lack of clear communication around meeting points and lunch breaks. We have brought your comments directly to our Venice Operations Manager to review our backup staffing protocols and ensure our guides maintain clear communication and a comfortable pace for every guest, even in unexpected situations. Please reach out to us at support@thetourguy.com so we can get this resolved for you. We appreciate your understanding and hope the rest of your time in Venice brought you wonderful memories.
My tour was very knowledgeable about the area.
