En annorlunda och specialiserad turné för resenärer som älskar historia, politik, kultur och som vill lära sig mer om en av de mest olika städerna och länderna i Latinamerika. Under rundturen används utbildningsmaterial och guiden berättar om sin egen erfarenhet, eftersom han är brorson till en före detta president i Bolivia och ättling till personer som blev politiskt förföljda under militärdiktaturerna. Under denna turné kommer vi att lära oss om det bolivianska folkets kamp, deras tragedier, krig, revolutioner, kärlek, mod och många andra aspekter som präglade det bolivianska samhällets karaktär. Vi börjar turen, där regerings- och riksdagspalatsen ligger. Där vi kommer att lära oss mycket om Bolivias turbulenta historia och politiska aspekter, från kolonialtiden då La Paz tillhörde det spanska imperiet till nutid. Nu besöker vi Chaco War Memorial, det sista kriget som Bolivia utkämpade, under detta besök observerade vi vapen, uniformer, fotografier, medaljer och andra föremål som användes under detta krig. Vi besöker den ikoniska Witches' Street där vi kan ta fotografier med väggmålningar och paraplyer på denna turistgata. Under besöket på denna destination lär vi oss om inflytande, egenheter och övertygelser hos de dominerande ursprungsbefolkningarna i Andinska regionen i Bolivia, vi lär oss också mer om alla ursprungsnationer i Bolivia. Visste du att Bolivia anses vara ett av de mest mångfaldiga länderna i kultur- och miljöaspekter?
I Bolivia är vi galna, nu besöker vi (från utsidan) ett av de farligaste fängelserna i Latinamerika. (Ja, fängelset ligger mitt i staden. På den här destinationen lär vi oss om många problem som plågar det moderna bolivianska samhället, såväl som urkontexthistorier som hände i detta fängelse.
Vi avslutar turnén med att observera Copacabana Hotel, där Ernesto "Che" Guevara bodde när han anlände till Bolivia 1967. Under detta besök får vi veta om hans agerande i Bolivia, etableringen av en gerilla i östra Bolivia och inflytandet från olika politiska strömningar i aktuell boliviansk politik och samhälle.
Vi besökte minnesmärket över demokratins martyrer, vi besökte utsidan av platsen där under diktaturernas tid ett av de värsta brotten begicks. Under detta besök kommer vi att lära oss mer om Bolivias historia under 1900-talet, särskilt om diktaturernas era som djupt präglade den bolivianska befolkningen. We loved our tour with Shamira! She has a wealth of knowledge about Bolivia’s political and cultural landscape as a native of La Paz. The tour flew by as we walked around at a relaxed pace having great conversations. My favorite part was when she walked us through offerings and rituals done by Bolivians using goods found at the witches market. I would definitely recommend this tour - it was a highlight of our time in La Paz.

A very good overview of the political history of Peru. There were only two of us so we all could ask each other questions about our cultures which was fun!

Nelson really knows his stuff. He took me through the whole political history of Bolivia from the 1800’s onwards. The assassinations the Coups the Wars, the US involvement and the communists. Moving on to the people, the unions and the effect of drugs

It was an informative tour and our guide Nelson was great. At the start of the tour my girlfriend was feeling very sick so we sat at a cafe and he bought some coca leaves for her to feel better. In the tour he explained a lot of history and current political issues in Bolivia, as well as answering any questions we had as we walked around the city.

Overall a very good tour. Our guide was friendly ans showed us around the centre on La Paz. The tour was also not too long which was ideal for us

We were notified by whatsaap of a change of schedule the day before but we were very busy with our trip and could not see it. They say they called us but we didn’t hear the call either, so at the time we had chosen there was no one. They also do not return the money from the tickets, that is; without receiving a reply they consider our tickets lost with the change of timetable. This is disrespect and abuse of the client. They look like Rayanair.

The fascinating and inspiring political history of Bolivia was one of the reasons we came to La Paz. And this was a definite highlight of our stay. Unlike a lot of tourist-aimed tours that just tick off a couple major moments, this was incredibly, dense, well-researched and really explored the whole history of the city and the country — from the revolutionary wars and independence movement, to the recent socialist governments and the turmoil of the last decade. Rodrigo wasn't just super friendly and entertaining but incredibly well-informed and able to answer any follow up questions you might have. A perfect tour for history and politics enthusiasts. Highly recommend!
