The 4x4 farmers market trip was excellent and far outweighed our expectations. We were the only two in the vehicle, so it was like a private tour as the driver told us all about the area. It is not all about visiting the farmers market, we went up in the mountains with spectacular views as well as stopping by a waterfall. The driver was always checking in with us that we were okay as we were stood in the back of the vehicle when we went on a long off road track. It was great fun, dipping and diving from the flora and forward. I would highly recommended this trip if you like to go off piste.
Very impressive trip on a 45° road, then visit a market and return via a special 4x4 track. breathtaking landscapes, just like the plants and trees encountered! Thanks to LINO, our incredible driver, who brought us back safely! It was all the more difficult as it rained a lot on the heights, but our driver mastered the mud, the ruts and the slips perfectly. Although we were impressed, we never felt in danger. Outstanding driver and guide: Lino explained lots of interesting things to us in French and did not hesitate to introduce us to the highlights of the route.
I was due to do this tour in February but was unwell. Glad I rebooked it. Pedro was such a lovely guide and a considerate driver, especially on the 4x4 off road sections, great fun. The weather was beautiful and I enjoyed all of the stops and viewpoints. It's always nice to book different company tours as they each have different stops. Will definitely look to book another Green Devil Safari tour when I'm back in my happy place, the beautiful island of Madeira
We had a terrific time with Nelson! He accommodated our diverse group and provided a solid overall introduction to life on his island home. We had a blast off roading and eating our way thru the farmers markets!
Had a great afternoon visiting the farmers markets but the highlight was off roading and getting a “Madeiran Massage” in the 4x4. It was absolutely exhilarating and the views were beautiful. Lino was a fantastic guide and driver and taught us a lot about the history of the island. He was funny, informative, and made the experience so much fun! Highly recommend for a half day excursion!
I think the details of this trip need an update. We didn’t quite do this itinerary. As a result we were not prepared for off road but was expecting a more leisurely sunday market trip. We still had a good time. Shame we didn’t do all the stops advertised but all in all it was a memorable morning with more thrills than we were ready for
Hello, Thank you for your review. I checked and the guide did the itinerary, and the itinerary has the name of the places that we pass, doesn't mean that we are forced to stop there. When you book a 4x4 "jeep tour", as the name says, if its a jeep 4x4 you will have some off road thru the forest to reach the hidden viewpoints, etc. The market as you saw its small, and sometimes most of the clients after 15 minutes they are in the jeep, when we gave 30 minutes to enjoy and try the local homemade "snacks", bread, drinks, fruits and vedgetables. In 4 hours you did and saw a lot, nearly 80 kilometers.
Lino made our trip very enjoyable and informative. He explained many things about the island we wouldn’t have learned on our own. We Will definitely take a tour again with him.
This is absolutely true. Get off the beaten tourist track and discover a slice of local life on this guided tour along the south coast..

Our guide Fernando was great and he showed us parts of Madeira few tourists see. Well worth the money!
