Vår guidade vandring kommer att vara i Langa Township som är den äldsta townshipen i Kapstaden och kända. för sin rika historia, livliga atmosfär och traditionella afrikanska köket

Vi besöker Langa Dompas-museet i hjärtat av Langa som erbjuder besökarna en gripande hyllning till apartheidens hjältar och offer. Denna historiska pärla ligger i hjärtat av townshipen och grundades för att fira dess hundraårsjubileum. Bantu-administrationens en gång ökända kontor fungerar nu som ett bevis på den mänskliga andans motståndskraft och en viktig påminnelse om det förflutna. Och vi besöker också Langa Old Flats som byggdes 1944 som enkönade vandrarhem för migrerande arbetare , nu bebodd av familjer. Langa vandrarhem Byggda för män under apartheidtiden, ger nu skydd för många familjer, i vissa fall tre i ett hus.
Vårt nästa stopp blir Guga S'Thebe Arts and Cultural Center i Langa Township, som erbjuder 1. Konst- och kulturträning: Centret erbjuder utbildning i olika konstformer, såsom metallarbete, keramik, dans, konst och hantverk, traditionell dans, körträning, musik och poesi. 2. Gemenskapsteater: Centret har en gemenskapsteater där lokala grupper kan arrangera föreställningar. Konst- och hantverksbutik: Centret har en butik som säljer lokalt konst och hantverk. Centret erbjuder redovisnings- och sekreterartjänster för småföretagare och lokala företag. Centret ger stöd och resurser för lokala entreprenörer och småföretag att starta och växa sina satsningar. Centret syftar till att ta itu med arbetslösheten i samhället genom att tillhandahålla utbildning och stöd till lokala entreprenörer och småföretag.

Amazing tour. Kazi was a wonderful tour guide with a lot of knowledge. The community was very welcoming, kind and talkative. Great experience.
Namhla has such an entertaining and sincere way of letting tourist see the real South African life. Staying in Green- Sea point or Waterfront you’re in a bubble but you run into people whom are living in the townships everyday. This tour was such an inspiring message. Namhla shared the gritty but also the hopeful aspects of living in a township. She wove the history of SA and the apartheids regime into the affects on modern day life. Do yourself a favor and go on this township tour and step outside the bubble!

Cape Town is a truly stunning city but to understand what moves the city, you have to experience a township tour with someone who is deeply rooted in the township community. Chippa was the perfect guide - knowledgeable, respectful of the community and with a desire to help others understand that a township is not what it appears to be from the outside. He shared the history of townships and brought us into the present with a glimpse into the future. It was safe, eye-opening, educational and truly gives you a newfound perspective. I would higly recommend this to anyone visiting Cape Town - whether you are travelling solo or in a group. A Langa township tour with Chippa will stay with you for a long time.
The trip was fabulous, informative, educational and the community were very generous in sharing their lives with us. It was a privilege to meet people from the community and to learn about their creativity and entrepreneurial ship in creating a better life for themselves , their families and their community.
