I början av din resa kan du känna naturens andetag i Okutama Town. Den första delen av resan kommer att korsa Hatonosu-dalen. Vid Unzen Bridge kan du njuta av det magnifika landskapet som är unikt för Okutama. Den friska luften som blåser ner från bergen och in i dalen kommer snabbt att blåsa bort den tidiga morgonsömnigheten och den unkna luften som har samlats i bilen under lång tid.
Vid första destinationen kommer du att göra din morgonträning. Nippagrottan är en av kalkstensgrottorna som representerar Kanto-regionen. Det lyser upp på vissa ställen, vilket skapar en fantastisk natur. När du går genom en ca 1 km lång grotta kan du känna åldern genom stalaktiter som skapades under många tusen år.
Turen tar dig runt sjön. Okutamasjön är en av de representativa sjöarna i Japan. Du kan njuta av varje säsongs magnifika landskap mitt framför dina ögon.
Efter körningen runt sjön kommer vi att besöka en punkt på toppen av berget där du kan njuta av en spektakulär utsikt över sjön och bergen. Vi ska ha en enkel picknick här. Vi äter lunch med en kamameshi-lunchlåda gjord på lokalt odlade grönsaker och säger adjö till Okutama stad.
Efter lunch vilar vi i bilen medan vi rör oss. Vi kommer in i Hinohara Village samtidigt som vi bevarar vår uthållighet för eftermiddagsaktiviteter. Hinohara Village är den enda byn i Tokyo som inte är välkänd även bland Tokyobor. Tillsammans med Okutama Town är det den by som är mest omgiven av natur i Tokyo. Denna bys cypress har blivit ett varumärke.
Här kommer vi att besöka traditionella japanska hus. Du kan lära dig om hur människor förr levde i den hårda miljön. Jag använder bergsklättringsmonorailen för att komma hem. Du kan njuta av den spektakulära utsikten när du klättrar uppför en brant sluttning på 43 grader.
Här ska vi gå över dalen. Kanoto Rocks är två stora stenar med historisk yta. Vi kommer att gå längs sidan av floden som flyter kraftigt mellan klipporna. Det mystiska landskapet och de spännande vägarna kommer att få dig att glömma att du är i Tokyo.
Avslutning, vi ska gå för att se ett vattenfall. Hossawa Falls är ett av japanska representativa vattenfall. Det är ett 60m långt vattenfall uppdelat i 4 trappsteg. Området runt vattenfallsbassängen är omgivet av ett överflöd av negativa joner. På vintern kan du se "Hyobaku" där hela vattenfallet fryser till.

We highly recommend this experience. From booking communications were excellent. Meeting point directions were accurate and easy. Our guide was punctual and friendly. He had an extensive knowledge of the Okutama region which he shared throughout the trip. He was also happy to answer our many random questions about Japan in general. Travelling in a small group we were able to squeeze more sites and experiences into the day. The region is beautiful and worth a visit. The picnic lunch was delicious!

This was an amazing experience and well worth the money.. a wonderful tour guide and places seen.. so nice to get out to see the real Japan. I would recommend this to anyone, especially those travelling solo. An experience like no other and things you’d never see otherwise…

Cool tour if you’re into nature and seeing spots outside of the city! Our group was small but I enjoyed that it was a bit more intimate. Going through the cave was interesting and getting to the top of the mountain gave us such a beautiful view of the area! Our guide, Ayumu, was awesome and very knowledgeable about the history of the area as well as kinda and personable. The people who lived in the area were so much more welcoming than anywhere else I’ve been in Japan (but to be fair, I’ve only gone to three different cities). Would definitely recommend!

Excellent tour especially if you want to go sightseeing outside of the busy Tokyo area. Our guide was great and the tour only had four of us. We had two nights at Haneda Airport and had a spare day. Our guide picked us up from our airport hotel which was fantastic. Be prepared for a long day but well worth it.

The day was fantastic with our guide collecting us from our hotel (very early in the morning - get a good night's rest as its a long day!) You go into the part of Japan that you otherwise likely wouldn't as a tourist, your guide is passionate and knowledgeable and can tell he enjoys what he does. Ask him the main reason why - his response is very fulfilling. We stopped Ppenty of pit stops for coffee, snacks or bathroom breaks as well as a yummy lunch. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Japan especially if you want a day outside of the city / suburbs.
