What a wonderful experience the tacos and tequila tour was! It was pouring down rain during my tour and Jay and Pao were kind enough to wait for me to arrive because in Mexico City the traffic was horrendous. They greeted me with friendly smiles, and I immediately felt relaxed because I do not like being late. We immediately left for the first taco spot and we had a shot of tequila and then we were served with a wonderful pork taco that was absolutely delicious. After that, we moved onto the second spot, which was very nice and we were served with two variations of tacos, which I enjoyed immensely. We had a shot of tequila before we entered this particular restaurant. The third taco spot we went to was a Michelin star awarded taco spot that apparently the locals loved. It was very crowded and the ambience of the restaurant was absolutely engaging. I had mentioned to Pao that I love Horchata, and when we sat down, I was magically served with a very large glass of Horchata along with my taco Al Pastor which was absolutely delicious. I can actually see why this taco restaurant had been awarded the Michelin star. As a solo, senior female traveler, I felt absolutely comfortable going out at night with these two young people who made me feel safe. They were kind they were supportive of my slow walking, and they had patience with me. They even waited for my Uber to arrive, and checked on me to make sure I arrived back to my lodging safely. I have been a traveler for over 40 years and I’ve gone on hundreds of tours in my travel lifetime. This tour is by far in the top five. If you love tacos and if you love tequila, I highly recommend this tour and these two wonderful tour guides. They are knowledgeable about the tacos that you will be tasting and they are so personable and are wonderful conversationalists. You will feel so comfortable, and you will thoroughly enjoy the tequilas and the tacos experience.
Jay and Pao are the nicest people! If you’re looking for an authentic tour and want to experience a different side of the city, book this one! You get to explore places most tourists never see, while enjoying absolutely amazing food along the way. It honestly feels like you’re spending an evening with local friends who are showing you their city and sharing their food culture with you. The atmosphere is so relaxed, personal, and genuinely fun. I would book this again, just to have another one of those amazing evenings. Definitely a must-do in Mexico City!
Loved the tour. Jay ana Pao were very friendly and fantastic hosts. Every taqueria had its own unique vibe and we felt welcome everywhere we went. The tacos were sublime and the whole experience was very authentic. The surprise drink at the end of the tour was delicious.
We had a great time with Jay and Pao. We wanted a more authentic experience in Mexico City, not the usual tourist spots. On this tour we definitely discovered the hidden local gems. Each taqueria was packed with locals and every taco was full of flavour. Without doubt the best of our entire trip. They also gave us recommendations after the tour, which were amazing!

We ate a variety of delicious tacos. The Michelin star taqueria was our favourite. The tequila shots were great and my fiancé and I both loved the surprise drink at the end!
