Upplev Stockholm! Byggd på 14 öar vid inloppet till sjön Mälaren från Östersjön, är denna stad världskänd för sin skönhet. Att se det från vattnet är en oförglömlig händelse. Men när du besöker Stockholm bör du också se Gamla stan, den bäst bevarade medeltida stadskärnan i världen. Denna turné kombinerar båda; först går vi på en rundvandring i kullerstensgränderna i Gamla stan, och sedan fortsätter du med den legendariska Royal Canal Tour, som drivs av Stromma Group. Denna båttur ingår i avgiften. Under rundvandringen får du lära dig om och knyta an till Stockholms och Sveriges historia. Du kommer att ta in flera historiska och vackra byggnader. Du börjar vid Operahuset. Du kommer att se parlamentsbyggnaden, Kungliga slottet och Stortorget i Gamla stan och gå genom Gamla stans medeltida gator. Båten tar dig sedan med på en fascinerande tur genom Djurgårdsbrunnskanalen och ger dig en fantastisk utsikt över Stockholms silhuett.

Du börjar denna pittoreska resa med en kort introduktion till Sverige och Stockholm. Sveriges formella namn är "Sveriges kungarike". Många av byggnaderna du kommer att se vid denna tidpunkt har en kunglig koppling. Det majestätiska kungliga palatset framför dig byggdes i början av 1700-talet i magnifik barockstil. Operahuset figurerade i operan "Maskbalen" komponerad av Guiseppe Verdi om den svenske kungen Gustav III. Det vackra huset i klassisk stil på andra sidan torget, som nu inrymmer utrikesdepartementet, var en gång arvingepresumptivpalatset.
Utforska sedan den svenska regeringens historia. Parlamentsbyggnaden ritades i nyrenässansstil, med en fasadsektion i nybarockstil. Riksdagshuset byggdes mellan 1897 och 1905. Riksdagens föregångare var Ståndsriksdagen där adel, präster, borgare och bönder träffades separat för diskussioner innan de träffade kungen i palatset. Till dess upplösning 1866 var denna anstalt den högsta myndigheten i Sverige efter kungen. 1866 infördes ett riksdag med två kammare, men utan lika rösträtt för alla medborgare. De första valen med allmän rösträtt hölls 1921. Detta efter en lång politisk kamp ledd av liberaler och socialister. 1975 ändrades grundlagen och parlamentets två kammare slogs samman till en. Det bekräftades också att kungen endast har en representativ roll och ingen verklig makt.
Från Riksbron kan du förundras över Riddarön, statsministerbostaden, regeringsbyggnaden och Adelshuset. Du kan också se Stadshuset, där den årliga Nobelprisbanketten hålls.
"Lejonbacken" ligger på Kungliga slottets norra sida. Lejonbacken är en av de mest populära fotoplatserna i Stockholm. Under 1600- och 1700-talen var Sverige en stormakt i Nordeuropa. Du kommer att se Kungliga trädgården med en staty av Karl XII, den siste av de svenska krigarkungarna. Till höger om parken ser du finansdistriktet, byggt vid 1900-talets början - perioden då arkitektoniska stilar blommade. Du ser också Grand Hotel, det mest prestigefyllda hotellet i Stockholm där Nobelpristagarna bor när de kommer för Nobelprisutdelningen.
Du passerar det kungliga slottets innergård och gör ett kort besök i Palace Chapel, där kungafamiljen döper sina barn. Utanför det kungliga slottet står en staty av Carl XIV Johan, som gjorde en enastående karriär i den napolska armén och sedan adopterades in i den svenska kungafamiljen. Han var den förste från Bernadottedynastin - den längsta kungliga dynastin i världen som fortfarande regerar! Carl XIV Johan importerades till Sverige från Frankrike för att vinna tillbaka det vi förlorade mot ryssarna i Napoleskrigen. Istället satsade han på diplomati, byggande av infrastruktur och utveckling av utbildning. 2014 firades 200 år av fred i Sverige. Den industriella revolutionen, naturresurserna och stora svenska uppfinningar skapade en grund för en välfärdsstat.
Stortorget är det centrala torget i Gamla Stan och den mest fotograferade platsen i Stockholm. Torget är omgivet av vackra hus i skandinavisk renässans- och 1700-talsklassicismstil från 1600-talet. På Stortorget ägde "Blodbadet i Stockholm" rum i november 1530. Omkring 100 adelsmän och präster halshöggs av den danske kungen Kristian II. Han är sedan dess känd som tyrannen Christian i Sverige. Nobelprismuseet ligger vid Stortorget. Svenska Kungliga Akademierna och andra kommittéer utser vinnarna av de mest prestigefyllda priserna inom många viktiga vetenskaps- och konstområden.
Från Stortorget går du Köpmangatan, Köpmannagatan. Denna gata har nämnts i skriftligt material sedan 1350. Du guidas genom några smala gränder för att känna atmosfären från medeltiden! Du går längs Österlånggatan och ner till Skeppsbron, där fartyg har lastat last sedan 1600-talet.
Vid Strömkajen börjar den kungliga kanalrundturen, som drivs av Stromma Group. Det finns hörlurar tillgängliga för audioguider på engelska och flera andra språk, inklusive spanska, kinesiska, estniska, finska, franska, tyska, italienska och ryska. Båten tar dig med på en fascinerande tur genom Djurgårdsbrunnskanalen och ger dig en fantastisk utsikt över Stockholms silhuett. Svensk fika (kaffe och kanelbulle), te, läsk och bakverk finns i baren ombord. Öl, vin, smörgåsar och snacks erbjuds också.

Never use Viator if you are on a cruise ship. NCL needed to cancel Stockholm and Viator would not refund our $252. After explaining the issue with documentation to prove the port change, Viator used no discretion in refunding our money. Very cold customer service!
We are truly sorry that your cruise was unable to visit Stockholm and understand how disappointing that must have been. When Viator contacted us regarding your case, we confirmed that our guide was waiting at the meeting point for your group and made several attempts to contact you, including by telephone, but unfortunately without success. The boat tickets included in the tour had already been paid for, and the boat operator also has a 24-hour cancellation policy, so these tickets were non-refundable. We had also already incurred the cost of providing the guide. Like most experiences offered through Viator, our tour provides a full refund when cancelled at least 24 hours before the scheduled start. We also suggested that guests in this type of situation contact their cruise line regarding possible compensation for itinerary changes, as this has been successful in similar cases. We sincerely regret that we were unable to welcome you to Stockholm. We hope you will have another opportunity to experience both Stockholm and our tour in the future. Best regards,
We had a wonderful tour of Stockholm city centre sites. Bengt was our guide and he was engaging and informative. We had lots of opportunity to ask questions and he answered them all. Enjoyed the boat ride at end. It was our first day in Stockholm and he gave us great perspective of city. Recommend highly.

Our guided land tour was nice. The guide was knowledgeable and nice, if perhaps a tad dry and very soft spoken. We were quite disappointed with the boat tour. We enjoyed the sights, but there was no live guide, just a recording we listened to. That recording was not really timed with the movement of the boat, so we were frequently hearing about things we had already passed or not yet gotten to, which was extremely confusing. A good part of the time we had no idea what we were looking at.

It is possible that this unusual change affected the timing of the recorded commentary and contributed to the confusion you experienced. Nice overview of a beautiful city. We did this tour on a sunny and cold day with Bengt. He was a great tour guide, telling us all about the history of Stockholm and the beautiful buildings. We then got in a boat tour of the surrounding waters and islands. Very cool to see and hear the river ice being broken up by the boat.
