Spade & Palacios enda lokalt ägda icke-turistiska matrundtur

Beskrivning
100% lokalt drivna, licensierade guider!

Great experience. Very easy to enjoy. Jesse was great, shared information about the area and food, was responsive to questions and made for an enjoyable afternoon experience.
Our guide, Chris, was the bomb! He was very knowledgeable and accommodating. I would recommend this event highly.
Consistently receiving 5 star reviews and deserving them is not easy - and this food tour of Montreal - and guide Dave - earn every star. The guide arrives early (as did we) and greets us by name - informs us of how many will be joining us and immediately invites us in for a San Salvadorian treat. Nine or ten more food tastings and explanations - from our guide as well as from the food experts we visited - followed. Three hours and several blocks of walking sped by - always enough of a taste to experience the ethnic, cultural, ingredient and texture of a tour through Montreal's connection to the world. An in-depth foray into a great (huge) market connected us to the season, the abundance of foods and the vendors who make their wares come alive. Having traveled and eaten in many places, this is a must experience/do not miss booking. Dave connected the food, vendors, tour participants (11 of us ranging in age from 15 to 77) and Montreal history and insights in a smooth flowing, well organized, professional experience - and though full at the conclusion of the tour (final stop - AMAZING chocolatier) still comfortable and appreciative of Dave - and the tour operator - providing a 5 star world class locally owned non-touristy Spade & Palacio triumph. Yes, this tour lives up to every word of its hype. Even if you live in Montreal, book this tour!
Very local and we got to see beautiful neighborhoods where most tourists don’t visit in Montreal. Danny was great - like having a friend show you around.
This is a great tour and a way to sample some of what makes Montreal such a terrific place to visit. Dave provided a lot of interesting info on the Jean Talon Market area during the tour and we enjoyed places we wouldn't have found otherwise.
I took the food tour with Jesse and had a fantastic time! I came hungry and I appreciated how they started with the heavier foods in the beginning and lightened up over time, so I left satisfied but not too too full. I loved all the foods we got to try (particularly the foraged mushrooms and the chocolates!) and learning the history of so many of the businesses. I was traveling alone and so this was a great way to explore the area around Jean Talon. Highly recommend!
Excellent tour with a variety of delicious food along with interesting information about Montreal neighborhoods. Chris was knowledgeable and interesting.
Thanks for choosing the only locally owned food tour around the market. Such a pleasure to showcase our local vendors and their stories. Hope the recommendations list came in handy!
We got to try an extremely wide array of typical Quebec foods, and our guide Chris was fantastic! We learned so much about Montreal and the region and its history alongside the food. Loved getting to see off the beaten path places. Tour was just the right length of time. Our young teen daughter also loved it.
As a seasoned food tour participant, I would say this is not bad. First timers might enjoy it even more. We had pupusa, horchata, two types of goat’s cheese, moutabal on pita chip, muhammara on pita chip, 2 flavors of ice cream, 6 types of charcuterie, pickled mushroom, coffee/lemonade and 4 types of chocolate & 1 pistachio paste. Good variety of food but don’t expect a full meal.
Heya! Thanks for joining. We love the diversity too !! How could you forget the fishmonger, one of our guest faves ;) There is one less stop on Mondays the day you visited than during rest of the week. Thousands of guests and less than a handful over the 11 years who left hungry. You’re appétit is one of the impressive ones. Like this tour, not bad at all! Hope our recommendations list helped to continue eating your way through our city.
Mel was a fabulous tour guide. She hit the right pace for the group on a really hot day. Food choices were varied and delicious and reflected the many cultures found in Montreal. We sampled food from about 10 different shops in and around the Jean Talon Market including papusas, smoked salmon, goat cheeses, charcuterie, artisan ice cream, chocolate, and delicious coffee. Mel was very knowledgeable about the food and the providers. It was a great way to learn about the Little Italy neighbourhood and local places that are not on the usual tourist circuit. The list of recommendations was really helpful. You can't go wrong with this tour!
We love the diversity of this tour and taking guests away from the main tourist haunts. The vendors stories almost make their products taste better. Thanks for choosing the locally owned food tour at the market! This review helps us being the small company we are! Come back for our new women in wine tour next visit!
