Resplan

Very good tour to interesting places with exciting explanations and stories. A good complement to a self guided tour.
Dear oliverkN1640IW, Thank you for your kind review:) We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed discovering some of Yerevan's lesser-known Soviet-era sites and found the stories and explanations engaging. Our guides love sharing the history, anecdotes, and everyday life behind these places, so it is wonderful to know that this enhanced your experience. Thank you for joining our Soviet Yerevan tour, and we hope to welcome you back for more discoveries in Armenia in the future!
Worth the price if you have 3-5 free hours in a day. The tour guide will take you on the metro, buy you an old school Armenian snack in the underground of the metro, take you around a neighborhood with Soviet apartment buildings, and to an abandoned amusement park. It was informative and friendly. There ended up being two other attendees during my session in May 2026.
Dear L8595HPariannaa, Thank you for your review and for joining our Soviet Yerevan tour. We're delighted to hear you enjoyed exploring a different side of Yerevan, from the metro and local snacks to the Soviet-era neighbourhoods and hidden corners of the city. It's great to know you found the experience informative and friendly. Thank you for spending part of your time in Armenia with us, and we hope to welcome you on another Envoy adventure in the future.
Well-organized tour with a very knowledgeable guide, who answered all questions! Highly recommended!!!
Dear LaFraaaaa, Thank you for your kind review. We’re very glad to hear you enjoyed the tour and appreciated the knowledge of your guide. Your recommendation means a lot to us, and we hope to welcome you again in the future.
Despite it snowing and me being the only person on the tour, it went ahead and Marina spoke most enthusiastically throughout. Great attention to detail and the locations are well thought out. They are places a tourist would never think of going and provide a real glimpse of Armenian life from the past and present. Best of all was that this was an honest and objective overview of the Soviet era. Neither romanticising nor disparaging. This provided insightful discussion and comparison to the modern day and as to life in the west from that era.
Dear BimScotland, Thank you very much for your thoughtful and detailed review. We truly appreciate your enthusiasm, especially considering the snowy conditions and the fact that the tour operated just for you. It means a lot to us that you found the experience engaging and worthwhile. We are especially glad that you valued the selection of locations and the perspective shared during the tour. Our aim is always to go beyond the obvious and offer a deeper, more balanced understanding of Armenia’s past and present, so your comments about the honest and objective approach to the Soviet era are particularly meaningful. It was a pleasure having you with us, and we hope to welcome you back again for more discoveries in the future.
Marina was a great guide... she took us to some parts of Yerevan we would have never seen if it wasnt for her! She was very knowledgable and easy to talk to.. If you wanna go back in time and explore soviet Yerevan, Marina is your guide!!

First of all I have to say that our tour guide as very knowledgeable and confident. Don't think you're going to squeeze in any extra stops on this tour! In all seriousness though the entire route/tour/plan was GREAT. It was very methodical, well planned and executed. Our guide was very knowledgeable and quite nicely interspersed her personal history with what was going on at the time. For anyone who likes Soviet history, this REALLY turned out to be a very pleasant afternoon! If you want to know what "Bangladesh" is all about, you'll have to join the tour to find out :-)
Dear Adam, Thank you very much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the structure and flow of the tour, as well as the guide’s storytelling and historical insight. The route is intentionally designed to be methodical and focused, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in the Soviet context rather than rushing through extra stops. It’s especially nice to know that the personal stories added depth to the experience — that human layer is something we value greatly. And yes… “Bangladesh” is definitely one of those details best discovered in person 🙂 Thank you again for joining us, and we’re glad the afternoon turned out to be a memorable one.
We loved our half-day Soviet Tour of Yerevan. Marine was our guide and we were so grateful that even though there was just two of us--she did not cancel the tour. My sister and I enjoyed learning about the Soviet times in Yerevan. This tour was unique with a mix of walking and driving. I appreciated that we got to see and explore various locations around the city--such as a planned neighborhood built in the 80s, the Bangladeshi Market, and both the Railway Station and the Children's Railway (an entertainment destination in Soviet time), and we got to walk through the Kond Pedestrian Tunnel as well. Marine was most knowledgeable and personable. I would highly recommend her for any tour!
Dear hjcaveney, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience on our Soviet Yerevan tour! We’re delighted to hear that you and your sister enjoyed discovering the everyday history of the city, from its planned Soviet neighborhoods to local markets and railway sites that shaped life during that era. This tour is designed to show unique corners of Yerevan that many visitors never get to see, so it’s wonderful to know it left a meaningful impression. We also truly appreciate your note about the tour running even with a small group. At Envoy Tours, we believe authentic travel experiences should be accessible, regardless of group size. Thank you again for your kind recommendation. We hope to welcome you back to Armenia in the future for more insightful journeys!
Informative and entertaining tour looking back at Yerevan’s Soviet past. And if you’re very lucky you will get an ice cream.
Very interesting and informative. Great! We got a different perspective on Armenia and a sense of how recent history has shaped life in Armenia.
Dear john p, Thank you for sharing your experience and kind words! We’re delighted that you found the tour both interesting and informative, and that it offered a new perspective on Armenia and its recent history. We also appreciate your practical tip about the stairs at the Children’s Railway — that’s very helpful for future travelers to know! It’s a unique spot full of character, and we’re glad you enjoyed it. We hope to see you again soon for more discoveries around Armenia!
Very Good Very Nice. Zankiu Zankiu. Amazing tour around the main spots or Yerevan in the Soviet times. Marine has a deep knowledge of the sites. Amazing the "Bangla" Market. Super recommended.
