Our guide Jaime is a native Poblano and chef. As such he was able to give us a sense of food history and local culture, while also describing Pueblan street food within the greater context of Mexican cuisine. We tasted Tacos Poblanos, pelonas, huitlachoche molote, tacos arabes, cemita milanesa, fruit sorbet, and various sweets. The leftovers came back with us to the hotel for snacking. A wonderful experience.
We had a wonderful time with Aleyn as our guide. All food, drinks and candies were delicious, and we got to explore some parts of the city we probably would find on our. If you are a foodie, I would definitely recommend this tour.
Such a great experience! The food was absolutely delicious and our tour guide, Jaime, was very knowledgeable and provided us with the background behind each dish. We left with our bellies full, would definitely recommend this tour to others!
Great introduction to the local food scene. The history and the legacy of the cuisine is well presented.
Guide was great. Very in tune with Puebla and history. Spoke English very well very thorough with her answers to all our questions.
Aleyn was an excellent tour guide, not only taking me to some of the best bites in Puebla, but giving me an informative history lesson on the cuisine and the city. I'd highly recommend taking her tour, which will give you great culinary introduction to Puebla.
This food tour was the absolute perfect way to kick off our stay in Puebla. Our guide, Aleyn, was not only knowledgeable and friendly, but she truly curated an unforgettable experience that went far beyond just sampling food. Each stop on the tour offered something unique and delicious, from time-honored local specialties to hidden gems we never would have found on our own. But what really set this tour apart was the way Aleyn wove in stories about Puebla’s history, culture, and neighborhoods—giving us a deeper appreciation of the city and its vibrant culinary traditions. We explored different parts of the city, learned about the origins of the dishes we were tasting, and even got personal recommendations for other restaurants and experiences to check out during the rest of our visit. If you're coming to Puebla and want a fun, flavorful, and meaningful way to connect with the city, this is the tour to take. We loved every minute.
Aleyn was our tour guide and she was exceptional. We met at the tourist office just across from the Zocalo at 1 PM. We went on a walking tour of the city around the Zocalo and stopped at about five or six different places to eat. All of them were very good. Most were very small stands and out-of-the-way places that we probably never would have gone to on our own. there are a lot of interesting stories about the places we ate and also about the city of Puebla. One we especially enjoyed was El Sultan. There was also a candy shop on the dolce’s Street and a wonderful bakery with fresh cooked goods. This was a great orientation to the city and just a good time. I would highly recommend such a tour on your arrival to Puebla.
Every stop came with real gastronomic and historical surprises. So many interesting experiences and insights right under our noses. Mostly we had been in the vicinity of these places before but it was if we had seen and understood nothing! So fascinating, so TASTY, distinctive, and so well conveyed by the super bright and personable Maria. We will probably go back and find all or most of the spots for MORE!
I was lucky enough to have a private tour since I was the only person that signed up. Everything was amazing, was left in a food coma so come hungry!
