Barockstaden Val di Noto, det är en stad av neolitiskt ursprung, huvudstad i ett forntida och kraftfullt län, som har en rik repertoar av gastronomiska specialiteter samt ett stort konstnärligt och kulturellt arv. Idag är det framför allt känt för produktion av den typiska Aztec-härledda choklad. Resenärer kommer att ha en timmes paus för att fullt ut kunna njuta av dess skönhet!
Ragusa Ibla är den gamla historiska stadskärnan i staden Ragusa. Det är känt över hela världen för över femtio kyrkor och många palats, vittnesbörd om det högsta uttrycket av barock på Sicilien. Belägen på en kulle, dominerar den lilla byn Ibla den omgivande dalen med sina kojor och smala gator på vilka den majestätiska katedralen San Giorgio regerar, det högsta uttrycket för den hybliska barocken. Ragusa ibla har under de senaste åren blivit en av de viktigaste turistattraktionerna på Sicilien. År 2002 ingick staden bland UNESCOs barockplatser i Val di Noto.
Noto anses vara den sicilianska barockens huvudstad och är en del av UNESCO:s Val di Noto. Den återuppbyggdes efter jordbävningen 1693 och fascinerar besökare med sina eleganta palats, monumentala kyrkor och den fantastiska katedralen San Nicolò. När du promenerar längs Corso Vittorio Emanuele kan du beundra enastående exempel på barockarkitektur, byggd i den karakteristiska gyllene stenen som ger staden en unik atmosfär vid solnedgången.

The exquisite baroque architecture of Modica, Scicli, and Ragusa. Taking the 45-minute Trenino Barocco glass-topped train tour around upper and lower Modica for only €5.
The trip was advertised as a Montalbano tour. We visited one site which the driver had difficulty finding. Every time we stopped subsequently it was not connected to Montalbano. The driver could not speak English. He chose where we went for lunch and suggested a tourist train ride round the town. The company had agreed to drop two Australian couples off at their hotel which the driver couldn't find so we arrived back in Catania at about 7.30 instead of 6pm. When I complained in the office I was told that Montalbano was just the name of the tour -which was exactly why we chose it. There were several other Montalbano trips advertised so we believe the company is deliberately misleading tourists to get the bookings. The girl in the office told my wife no refund was available because we had seen the house and the rest of the trip was to see the General area and not to visit specific locations. If we had known this we would not have booked it. As a side issue because the driver acted as the personal taxi for the Australian couples and made us very late our taxi driver had to wait for 90 minutes to drive us back to our hotel
A very good tour but do not expect interaction with the driver. He is a driver, not a guide. It would have been nice to get tips and ask questions instead of hearing a recording of what you are about to see. Also, the car goes through twists and turns in the roadways and if you get carsick easily, take dramamine. It was a beautiful day exploring on a wonderful tour.
