Santiago de Compostela & Valença do Minho - från Porto
Beskrivning
Santiago är en av de mest populära destinationerna för katolska pilgrimer i hela världen. Är huvudstad i Galiza (Spanien), och är platsen för Santiago-katedralen (1075 – 1128), där lämningarna av Santiago den apostoliska kan grundas. Rutter till Santiago är mänsklighetens arv av UNESCO och används av tusentals varje dag på resan till den iberiska halvöns religiösa huvudstad. På vår turné kommer vi att ägna morgonen åt att besöka katedralen och efter lunch hänga runt medelåldersstaden Santiago och upptäcka några hemligheter i dess smala gator. På återresan finns det också ett stopp i Valença do Minho, den portugisiska gränsstaden längst upp i norr. Här kommer vi att fokusera vårt besök i befästningen med rötter från XII och synlig rekonstruktion från XVIII. En unik utsikt över staden, floden Minho (naturlig gräns) och den spanska sidan.

We had always wanted to visit Santiago de Compostela and were beyond lucky to find Ricardo Costa to take us there from Porto. We arrived at our apartment right on time and was a fun companion for the day and was very knowledgeable about Santiago. He told us about the history and significance of every aspect of the Cathedral. We also stopped at a charming walled city on the way called Valenca do Minho. It was an unexpected place and we really enjoyed it. Ricardo stopped at a typical cafe for a sweet treat on the way and another for lunch. We really enjoyed the day and it was exactly what we wanted. We will definitely call on Ricardo again the next time we are in Portugal.
