Amazing hike and food. Great guide!
It was such a great experience to see all the nature Peru has to offer and eating great food along the way. My guide was Eddy, he spoke perfect English and was so helpful and informative, anything I wanted / needed he was always able to help. I thought that he paced us very well and was very open to whatever we wanted to do, couldn’t have asked for a better guide !!
We did the Salkantay Trail from June 23-27 with the guide Edy. It was an amazing experience. We were a group of 8 people and at all times he took care of us, accompanied us, and guided us wonderfully. I would definitely do it again! Thanks to the other companions who prepared us an excellent meal and took care of our luggage at all times!
This trek was 100% worth it!! Machu Pichu Jungle had everything handled professionally and in detail. The day before you start the actual trek there is an orientation to review the entire route, expectations for everyday, packing list, and importantly pick up your duffel bag and sleeping bag! The duffel is intended to hold 6kg including your sleeping bag. On day 2, any kg over the 6kg limit you either need to hike up with or pay per kg. Pack appropriately, stick with wools and layers, less bulky stuff. And a clean set to sleep in! Also bring a travel-sized personal towel! Food: The food was incredible! Portions were huge, every night our group of 8 couldn't even finish! Every morning they serve coca tea straight to your room right before 5am. Sometimes the simplest meals are actually the best! The quality was better than food you'd find in Cusco. I believe they were sourcing some of the food from the local gardens at each lodge. Lodging: Each lodge was unique and special in its own way. The first night will be the coldest, so prepare for that. Showers are available Days 2, 3 and 4, but only hot showers on day 2 and 4. Extras: Definitely pay the extra for the hot springs on day 4, it's a very unique location and will be worth the effort. I highly recommend the ziplining, they'll have you flying between two mountains over multiple long zip lines. Staff: The group we were paired with and the tour guide assigned to us, Edwar, was perfect! Edwar's (work and personal life) experience and wisdom really made the trip that much more special. Watching other tour groups along the hike made me realize how lucky we were to have him. He's very knowledgeable, experienced, and communicates very well. He gave the group freedom to hike at their pace, which can vary greatly, and made sure everyone was taken care of. The rest of the staff are incredible too, the chef, junior (?) chef, and the horseman. Extremely humble and incredibly hard working, they make sure the engine is running without us ever noticing. First ones to wake up and last ones to sleep, everyday. All of them deserve and earn every tip given to them. Highly recommend this company!!
Wonderful experience during this 5 days trekking, everything was well organized, the accommodation were simple but beautiful, chef Lorenzo did an impressive work with our food and our principal guide Brayan did and amazing job, making sure everyone was having fun and checking that everything was in order in every occasion, he’s a really great person!
Fernando was absolutely incredible, every minute of every day was fun thanks to him. I owe this incredible experience to him. Loved every bit
Had on the 5th. Five-day Salkantay Trek, with Rodri as the guide, was a lot of fun and we were well informed about local highlights. Rodri has also ensured that as few people as possible are at the hotspots, so that they can be enjoyed better.
I did the 5 day salkantay trekk and had an amazing experience. It was very organized with all the logistics arranged . Ascencio was an amazing guide, very knowledgeable, really took care of all the group to ensure we all had a great experience!
Absolutely amazing 5 days on the trek. Our guide Rodrigo was great, knowledgeable and had everything very well planned and organized. The chef Lorenzo also made sure that we had 3 great meals everyday. 100% recommended considering cost/value. The only thing that needs some improvement is the front office / booking staff and the communication with them.
We did the 4 Days Salcantay Trek. First of all: the Trek itself including campsites, the Guide and the Chef etc were 5/5. Our Tourguide was Jeffrey and the Chef was Michael (I think). Totally recommend. The Views were incredible, the food was fresh, local and on point and Jeff always made sure we were the first ones at the viewspots and we felt very safe and had so much fun. The group consistet of 10 people (4 were there trough another agency). So why only 3 Stars? It was the agency and the organisation before/after the trip. We booked directly at the agencies website. The contact and Communication was trough whatsapp. We got our muchu picchu circuit Tickets on our own and only had booked the trek itself, traintickets, hikingpoles and the sleepingbag. The communication was very hard. The agency only provided information, when we asked for it, never on their own. We asked for example multiple times for out train tickets and times to coordinate with out Airbnb after the Trek but never got an answer since we were there for the briefing and found out, that the tickets werent even booked by them. Another example is that we were at our way back to cusco after machu picchu and texted the agency until when we could get our extra luggage (which was stored at their place) and that we are on our way. When we arrived there 4 hours later they told us, that they need fotos of the luggage and that we havento wait 40 Minutes, because they need to get it from a second location. 1. luckily we hat fotos from the bags, but no one told us before to create some 2. if they told us, when we contacted them regarding the luggage we would not have wated so long. All in all was the trip great, which is because of the guide, chef, porter and people you meet ok the way. The agency itself is sadly far away from the quality their freelancers are providing and you have to have strong nerves.
