Ditt äventyr börjar på Truth Coffee, där doften av nybryggt kaffe sätter tonen för en resa in i Kapstadens hjärta och själ. Därifrån kliver du ut på gatorna i District Six, en gång ett blomstrande samhälle som slitits sönder av tvångsförflyttningar, nu en kraftfull symbol för motståndskraft. Längs vägen passerar du stadshuset, där Nelson Mandela höll sitt första tal efter fängelset, och Slave Lodge, en stark påminnelse om Sydafrikas förflutna. Upplev surret på Greenmarket Square, fyllt av lokala hantverk och berättelser, och promenera sedan längs Long Street, där historia och modern kultur kolliderar. Turen avslutas i Bo-Kaap, med sina ikoniska färgglada hus och rika Cape Malay arv. Det här är inte bara en rundvandring – det är en oförglömlig resa genom berättelserna, kampen och andan som har format Kapstaden. Därefter kommer gruppen att bege sig till Distrikt sex, där guiden kommer att dela den kraftfulla historien om tvångsförflyttningar under apartheid och den pågående effekten på fördrivna familjer. Guiden kommer att förklara betydelsen av detta område och dess kamp för upprättelse.
Guiden stannar till vid Stadshuset, där du får höra om balkongen där Nelson Mandela höll sitt första offentliga tal efter att ha släppts från fängelset 1990. Guiden kommer att belysa den historiska betydelsen av detta ögonblick för Sydafrika.
På Greenmarket Square kommer guiden att dela med sig av torgets rika historia som ett centrum för handel och protester, samtidigt som den pekar ut den livliga marknaden och de lokala försäljare som fortsätter att forma torgets livliga atmosfär.
Genom att stanna utanför metodistkyrkan kommer guiden att förklara sin historia som en före detta slavkyrka och hur religion spelade en komplex roll under slaveriets era och därefter, inklusive dess roll i motståndsrörelser.
Gruppen kommer att passera Slavlogen och guiden kommer att dela med sig av insikter om byggnadens roll under slaveriets era. Guiden kommer att förklara hur logen nu är ett museum tillägnat de oberättade historierna om slaveriets inverkan på Kapprovinsen.
Gruppen kommer sedan att flytta in på de färgglada gatorna i Bo-Kaap. Guiden kommer att förklara historien och den kulturella betydelsen av Cape Malay samhället, de ikoniska färgglada hem, och det fortsatta arvet från denna levande stadsdel.

We did 2 walking tours, the first being the walking history tour and this was marred by anti-British comments for our Afrikaner lady guide who more than once poked fun at the Brits, knowing that we were from the UK. This led to some of the information being unbalanced and she did not portray the poor treatment of the African people by not only the Uk but also other countries in South Africa with an even view. The second tour of Bo-Kaap was excellent, informative and interesting, he was unbiased and dealt with the history of Cape Town giving flavour from all sides and we had much fuller flavour of living through thos past times.

Dylan the guide started out friendly and energetic. He doesn't quite have his patter down and it seemed like he ran out of gas early on in the tour - he began repeating facts and listing details with no context and in no particular order. The walk itself hit some good points of interest; by the time we got to Bo-Kaap, I think we learned that there were colorful houses as an expression of freedom and were told to take pictures. And then the tour was over.

We’re glad you still got to see some of Cape Town’s key highlights, but we’re sorry the experience with Dylan didn’t feel as smooth or engaging as it should’ve been. This tour was an interesting and historical walk which included some highlights such as City Hall where Nelson Mandela first addressed his people after release from prison, Desmond Tutu's home and church and the colourful Bo-Kaap area. Our guide Dylan was articulate, knowledgeable and polite. 5*
