This is a super fun, though not easy crafting experience. Though their English isn’t great, they try hard and are patient and kind. This can take a while to do as you need to trace over the image many times. We didn’t realize the cost of the bags/cloth you’re dyeing are included already. For the thicker bags, you can actually choose a different pattern for the backside. You can’t do this if using a thinner material that is only meant for one sided dyeing. We spent almost 2.5 hours here and it was a fun and memorable time for us all.

This workshop was a great experience into pattern dying clothes. There was a huge selection of prints and items to dye. The staff was lovely in helping and explaining the process. We had a great time and our finished products look amazing :)

Very enjoyable experience! The owner and his family were very helpful. His Mom is 89 and amazing. I'm an artist and you need no talent or ability to draw. There a a ton of patterns to choose from. My husband and myself did t-shirts but you can pick other items if you want to try the technique on a tote bag or other items.

Tucked back in a quiet neighborhood you will find this cute little shop. The family running this was so friendly; you could tell they took a lot of pride in their craft. We had a great time as a family learning how to do Roketsu. I wanted my family to experience some true Japanese culture and this delivered and we came home with one-of-a-kind souvenirs that have special meaning to us! This activity is so well priced for what u get to do! It was a nice break from the typical tourist things and you walk out that day with your finished product. I highly recommend this experience for anyone looking to do something out of the norm!!

Wonderful experience, staff very knowledgeable and shared easily process and history of indigo dyeing for kimono. Made 2 pieces, staff made sure my clothes were protected. Showroom upstairs had lovely pieces to purchase. Traditional authentic dye shop!

This was such a fun experience! The owners are so helpful and patient! There are so many patterns to pick from-or you can just have fun doodling like I did! You were able to choose from a t-shirt, tote bag, or banner and that was included in the price. It was fun to be part of the whole process and then have your item to take home right then. I would definitely do it again!
