Besök Alley of Letters som byggdes för att hedra 1600-årsdagen av skapandet av armeniska alfabetet. Detta monument är unikt, inte bara i Armenien, men över hela världen. Därefter ligger sjön Kari i höjden av 3250m på sluttningarna av Mount Aragats, den högsta punkten i Armenien (4095 m). Se Amberd, en fästning på den södra sluttningen av Aragats berg, grundad på 7th century.

Armeniens högsta topp är berget Aragats (4090 m). Denna fyrtoppade jätte är klättrarnas favoritberg. På vägen till den södra toppen är det bästa stoppet vid sjön Kari (översatt som stensjö), som är på höjden av 3250 m. På toppen öppnas den mest attraktiva scenen: silhuetten av gröna dalar från ena sidan, de eviga snö- och silversjöarna från andra sidor och det bibliska berget Ararat långt i Araratdalens dimma.
Armeniska alfabetet Monument ligger i byn Artashavan, på östra sidan botten av Mount Aragats. Det uppfördes 2005 till 1600-årsdagen av skapandet av det armeniska alfabetet genom design av den berömda armeniska arkitekten Jim Torosyan. Monumentet är en intressant demonstration av stenristningarna i 39 armeniska bokstäver. Armeniska alfabetet har använts för att skriva det armeniska språket sedan år 405 eller 406 och används fortfarande för att presentera armeniska språket i skriftlig form. Den utformades av Saint Mesrop Mashtots, en armenisk lingvist och kyrklig Ledare, för att göra Bibeln tillgänglig för armenier och sprida kristendomen. Ursprungligen innehöll den 36 bokstäver och hade färdigställts under medeltiden.
De viktigaste arkitektoniska egenskaperna hos medeltida fästningsbyggnad har funnit sin spegelbild i denna fästning. Efter att ha byggts på en naturligt välförsvarad udde har Amberd under lång tid fungerat som ett viktigt militärt fort. Bredvid denna sekulära byggnad finns en kyrka, byggd 1026 av hertig Vahram Pahlavuni.

This was an amazing tour. Mike and Karen were great to hangout and very very knowledgeable of Armenian culture from it's inception to present day. We learned about tons of fascinating topics from literature, to religion and within context and in a very fluid and well crafted manner. Highly recommend taking the lunch option at Chir's house. Armenians will never let you starve don't worry about it. The food was all freshly cooked with vegetables from the garden at Chir's house where they also make their own honey and dried fruit. This was our first tour in Armenia and first time and this was perfect for us. Great if you don't want to walk much but see beautiful places. Nothing too hard to reach or with challenging hikes even though most of the tour is in mountains so I'd say this is a level for seniors as well. Highly recommend Karlen and Mike, I want to book them again for the next day but they were taken. Keep up the good work Karlen and Mike :D

The Alphabet park and fortress were nice. What made the day was the guide, Alisa. She was very informative and engaging on topics beyonf the ones we saw. The lake was a total waste of time. Take a sweater. It was chilly up there. I think it was very overpriced for what we got.
