Hämta från ditt hotell och fortsätt till Fort Jesus som byggdes av portugiserna på 1500-talet. Platsen som valdes var en korallrygg vid inloppet till hamnen och byggdes för att säkra säkerheten för portugiser som bor på Afrikas östkust. Det har haft en lång historia av fientligheter från de berörda parterna som brukade bo i Mombasa. Omanska araber attackerade fortet från 1696 till 1698. Mellan 1837 och 1895 användes fortet som baracker för soldaterna. När det brittiska protektoratet utropades den 1 juli 1895 omvandlades fortet till ett fängelse. Fortet är nu ett viktigt historiskt landmärke i den östafrikanska regionen.

På eftermiddagen kan du besöka Dr. Rene Hallers naturpark (Haller Park), tidigare stenbrott som nu återställs i skog och hem för många djur. För närvarande är Haller Park värd för en mängd olika vilda djur, inklusive flodhästar, giraffer, bufflar och antiloper, krokodiler samt mindre däggdjur och fåglar. Parken består av ett viltreservat, reptilpark, ett litet demonstrationsområde för fiskfarm, palmträdgård, krokodilpennor och en utsiktsplattform för giraffer, som erbjuder en mängd olika attraktioner på olika platser för att utbilda och underhålla de över 160 000 besökare som besöker parken varje år.

Enjoyed this trip very much, got to see a lot of the city and the guide (Anthony) was very friendly. Made you feel very welcome and easy to talk with. Especially loved the woodworking place and see how the people were making all kind of wooden stuff, from statues to furniture. You get to see a lot of things in one day and to be guided makes this really worth your time. It is a lot to take in, but worth it in my opinion. I chose the private tour option, it costs slightly more, but made the tour feel more personal. Would recommend this doing private (solo or with your group)

t was a great experience. Driver was super nice and guide showed us around and kept as safe. Since we were in Diani we payed 40$ additionally - that seems fair. There was a bit of unpleasant surprise when we needed to pay for all the entrances frees even tho on website says they are included. But Manager later contacted us, apologized and they returned the money we payed!
