We wanted to visit the Grand Bazaar with a local guide to experience it without the overwhelm and are so happy we decided to book this! Sevval was warm, kind, knowledgeable and couldn’t have tried any harder to make our experience fun, easy and enjoyable. She took us to shops with great quality items where we were treated really well. We honestly felt like we were among friends throughout - with Sevval and the shop owners we met. The hospitality in the shops was so warm and welcoming - lots of tea, lemonade a sweet treats. We loved that we were asked in advance what we wanted to see so the time there was spent in a focused way. Highly recommend this tour. Great communication in advance about where and when to meet. Highlight of our Istanbul trip!
I can only recommend this trip. The guide Gokay was extremely helpful - from asking in advance what to focus on - to the day itself. We were in a lot of exciting shops and Gokay helped negotiate great prices. I only have good things to say about the experience.
Karya was wonderful and really listened to what I was looking for. She took us to some great shops that I’m sure we couldn’t have found on our own. We were able to get the items we wanted at prices we were happy with, and she helped to translate and negotiate for us. The Grand Bazaar is beautiful but extremely overwhelming— my husband and I agreed that we wouldn’t have wanted to navigate it without her. I’m glad we did the tour.
guide did not show, we got a text later asking us to follow up for meeting location. since she had already sent location we did not worry. Internatl location, text was not working well
Hello, I am truly sorry for the inconvenience however the problem did not occur on our side, we messaged you on iMessage, we couldnt message or call you on WhatsApp because you are not registered there and your number did not appear and we called you on your phone number however it was not open for international calls so we could not reach out to you. Plus, I messaged you on Viator systems many times and sent you all the details however we never got a response from you. The guide showed up, however without knowing who she should be expecting, after waiting for 45 minutes she had to leave. I hope you realize this issue was not occurred because of us. After your failure to show up and no communication from your side unfortunately there is nothing we could do. So sorry again, if you ever come back and want to have the tour, please message me and we will provide it for you free of charge to make it up even if it wasn't our mistake as I mentioned above.
I would any time recommend this trip - especially with the guide Gokay. He knows everything there is to know about the bazaar and was so kind and helpful - with everything, also with getting good prices in the shops. I will definitely book this trip again the next time I visit Istanbul.

I booked with a tour guide last minute, and was lucky enough to meet Gökay Ba. He was kind, polite, extremely patient, and made the experience a 10/10. In the 3ish hours we spent together, he shared history of the bazaar and other nearby areas, avs let me be a tourist, without making it awkward. It was like meeting a friend for an afternoon. The bazaar was busy, but he kept pace with me so I didn't get lost or overwhelmed. It was a very laid back vibe, with no expectations. If I wanted to spend more time with him, he absolutely would have. He was so generous with his time and knowledge and easy to talk to and ask questions. He even carried my bags and saw me to my cab. When I return in a few months, I intend on touring with him again.
Shopping with Sevval is like shopping with a friend. She takes you to all the great stores and helps with bargaining. If you are looking for something in particular she knows where to get it. She also makes it fun and relaxing. While we didn’t go to any of the famous monuments or tourist attractions, I felt like I experienced a more authentic side of the city. Instead of standing in long lines, we wandered through local shops, discovered hidden gems, and met shop owners who welcomed us with tea and conversation. It didn’t feel rushed or overwhelming — it felt personal, genuine, and tailored exactly to what I was looking for. By the end of the day, I not only found beautiful things to take home, but also felt like I had made a new friend and seen a side of Istanbul most visitors miss.
WOW! Gokay was AMAZING! The best travel shopping experience ever. He knows the ins and outs of the Bazaar, listened to what I wanted, and was extremely patient. Book this trip girls!!! You won’t be disappointed. Well worth your time and money.
Gokay was a terrific guide. He listened to what I was most interested in, and from there, curated our tour around the bazaar. He knows the best places, has genuine relationships with various vendors, and helped negotiate prices for me. We even found a hidden han with a stunning view. I appreciated the knowledge and passion he brings to the experience and highly recommend.
