Beskrivning
Detta heldagsäventyr låter dig njuta av både den magnifika panoramautsikten Salvador erbjuder, samt upptäcka dess rika historia, extraordinära arkitektur och dynamiska kultur, resultatet av blandningen av portugisiska, afrikanska och ursprungsbefolkningar. Vi kommer att se staden från olika vinklar, upptäcka den nedre staden, med dess bukoliska inre atmosfär, runt det lugna vattnet i All Saints Bay, och fortsätta till toppen av Itapagipe-halvön, den yttersta västra delen av Salvador, och sedan Övre staden med dess historiska centrum – vaggan av vår stads historia.

Vår resa börjar vid Farol da Barra, där vi kommer att njuta av den spektakulära utsikten över Atlanten och ingången till bukten.
Vi åker sedan till Dique do Tororó, där vi kommer att uppskatta de berömda skulpturerna av Orixás – African Dieties av konstnären Tati Moreno, som återspeglar det afrikanska inflytandet i Bahians vardag, och vi kommer att se fotbollsstadion, Arena Fonte Nova.
Medan vi går ner till den nedre staden kommer vi att köra genom Salvadors gamla finanscentrum och Salvadors hamn mot Ribeira-distriktet.
Vi kommer att ha en chans att stanna vid stadens mest traditionella glassbutik, Sorveteria da Ribeira, där vi kommer att ha en chans att njuta av några av de över 70 tillgängliga smakerna, varav många är gjorda med regionens typiska frukter.
Därefter kommer vi fram till Bonfim-kyrkan, en av de mest kända kyrkorna i hela Brasilien och en stor representation av den religiösa synkretismen som är så närvarande i vår kultur, där vi kan knyta de traditionella färgade banden och be alla helgon om deras skydd . Berörda av tro, folket i Bahia går 8 km (5 mi) årligen på den traditionella Bonfim-festivalen.
På vägen åker vi till Ponta de Humaitá och gör ett stopp vid Mont Serrat Fort, där vi kommer att njuta av en hisnande panoramautsikt över Salvador.
Vi kommer sedan till toppen av den övre staden, där portugiserna byggde Brasiliens första huvudstad, liknande en akropolis. Från torget kommer vi att se Rio Branco-palatset, kommunfullmäktige och den ikoniska Lacerda-hissen, varifrån vi kommer att njuta av en magnifik utsikt över bukten med dess öar, det gamla finansdistriktet och Mercado Modelo, en hantverksmarknad.
VI kommer att passera genom Sé-torget, där den första katedralen i Brasilien byggdes och vi kan fortfarande se dess ruiner.
Torget Terreiro de Jesus, hemmet för den tidigare jesuitskolan och kyrkan, byggdes ursprungligen. Numera är det den nya basilikans katedral. Vid denna tidpunkt kommer vi att ge ledig tid för lunch.
Efter lunch besöker vi en av Brasiliens vackraste katedraler. Basilikakatedralen i Salvador är moder till alla brasilianska katolska kyrkor och rymmer en av de viktigaste samlingarna av brasiliansk helig konst.
Saint Francis Square ligger i hjärtat av den gamla staden, där vi hittar barer, restauranger och hantverksbutiker. Men landmärket här är verkligen världens berömda Saint Francis of Assisi-kyrkan, en sann barockpärla (besök). Biljett ingår ej.
Detta är ett av de vackraste torgen i Salvador, där Jorge Amado Foundation och Church of Rosary of the Black Men ligger.

Min bil är en svart Toyota Corolla XEI 2023. För större grupper kan jag ordna en bekväm skåpbil som transport. Jag kan hämta resenärer på hotellet, i Gamla stan eller på kryssningsterminalen. För hotell utanför det område som anges ovan tar jag ut en avgift för hämtning och avlämning på hotellet.

Carlos led us on a fabulous trip around Salvador introducing us to the history and culture of his amazing city. His winsome enthusiasm for his city was contagious! He was kind and thoughtful with sharing umbrellas on our rainy day. He showed us all the highlights and found the perfect lunch spot for us to enjoy delicious Bahian cuisine! Carlos was an incredible guide! He is so knowledgeable about Salvador and the history, architecture, and culture of the city. The tour is fantastic - we really learned a lot and got to see so many special places and enjoy some incredible food. Carlos speaks perfect English and took care of all of the logistics for our group of 9 people with lots of luggage, and even arranged transportation for us unrelated to the tour. Highly recommend!

Carlos took us on a great tour of Salvador. We booked directly (always our preferred option). Having don’t the previous day blindly wandering around it was so much better to have a structured day with a guide to explain everything to us. You really gain a lot from this. We started in the Barra district (where I am writing this review from on the beach☀️) and during the day traversed both the lower and upper city, we had a great time and Carlos was the perfect guide. He was easy to talk with and clearly very knowledgeable about Salvador. We would recommend the tour to anyone.

We had an amazing tour of Salvador with Carlos, he spoke English very well, we learned so much history of Salvador and Brazil from Carlos. He took us to a fabulous place for lunch. Carlos was wonderful! So knowledgeable. He modified the itinerary based on our interests. We saw so much in 6 hours. When it started to rain he went back to his car and got umbrellas for us. He picked a great place for lunch and got us back to the ship in plenty of time.
