Utforska den magnifika Revival gamla stan med sina unika färgglada hus från 1800-talet. Se de nyligen avslöjade tidiga kristna mosaikerna som går tillbaka till 300-talet! Plovdiv i sig kommer att vara en europeisk kulturhuvudstad 2019. På eftermiddagen åker du till Bachkovo-klostret - det näst största klostret i Bulgarien, grundat på 1000-talet. Den är känd för ikonen av Virgin Marry, som lärs ut att vara mirakulös och tusentals människor varje år kommer för att se den. De flesta gånger görs resorna med miljövänliga bilar - med cng-motor eller elektromobiler, så att vi kan hjälpa till att bekämpa luftföroreningarna.

The tour was well organized. Our guide Alex was friendly and well-prepared with lots of historical facts. Communication from the company could have been better. Emails took days to get a response and after the initial payment weeks in advance there was nothing received from the company until the evening before pick up.
Very nice, Nicholas was very accommodating and gave us good information and history of the Plovdiv area.
A great day trip out of Sofia. Well organised and good value and very convenient with the hotel pick up/drop off 😀 Our guide was Lubomir who was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Bulgaria and the Sofia/Plovdiv area.

An excellent day trip from Sofia. We enjoyed visiting the charming old city of Plovdiv … the views are amazing and the old buildings beautifully restored. The monastery was definitely worth the additional drive out of Plovdiv … it was a treat driving through the beautiful countryside up to the monastery but the situation and inside the church of the Monastery was like nothing we had seen before … it was awe inspiring. Our driver/guide, Lubomir, was brilliant … he ably gave us an outline of the history of the Balkan Peninsula and the history of the Sofia area … we enjoyed his company and came away from the day much better informed than we had been at the beginning of the trip. The vehicle we travelled in was immaculately clean and comfortable and Lubomir was a safe and considerate driver. Thank you 😊
