Om du vill förstå Balkan med all dess komplexitet, rik historia och färgstark blandning av olika kulturer och vanor rekommenderar vi att du besöker Nis med oss. Under denna dagstur kommer du att resa genom historien med din guides professionella ledning. Vår resa genom tiden börjar från den romerska perioden, när Nis gav världen en stor man - den romerska kejsarens konstantin den stora. Sedan fortsätter vi genom medeltiden och den osmanska regimen som lämnade konstruktioner som Nis Fortress och Skull Tower - en symbol för kampen för frihet och oberoende från ottomanerna. Till slut kommer vi att uppmärksamma den moderna historien och perioden av nazistisk ockupation i före detta Jugoslavien, besöka Nazi koncentrationslägret. Naturligtvis, efter alla intryck som du får, blir det dags för lite vila. Du får chansen att smaka på det berömda serbiska köket - en av de läckra på Balkan.

Din guide hämtar dig från ditt boende i Sofia klockan 08:30. Efter ungefär två timmars körning når vi vårt första blick - Medijana arkeologiska park, som är en romersk kejsarresidens, nuförtiden stängd på grund av renovering.
Vårt nästa stopp är Skull Tower, även känd som Cale kula. Tornet är nu ett museum som ägnas åt bulgarerna och serberna som deltog i upproret mot det osmanska riket. Det byggdes från turkarna och konstruerades med dödskallarnas dödade uppror. Idén med denna handling var att varna andra vad som kommer att hända om de kommer att göra uppror.
Nazistiska koncentrationsläger - byggdes 1941 och det är känt för fångarnas framgångsrika flykt i början av 1942. Lägret är perfekt bevarat och skadades aldrig.
Därefter fortsätter vi till gamla stan där vi besöker Nis-fästningen. Där kommer vi att se ruiner från den antika Nisus och senare osmanska perioden. Vi ska ta en promenad och därefter njuta av den traditionella lokala maten.

This was my second trip with this company and it was excellent! I forgot the name of the guide (trip was done on 14 July 2026), but he did such an excellent job! Pick up was on time, the van was comfortable, and toilet breaks were scheduled as needed. The guide did a great job explaining all sites visited that include Constantine’s Villa, Skull Tower, one concentration camp, Nis Fortress, and the city center. Thank you for a great trip!
It was an excellent day learning about some history of Nis. It was a long day of driving, but very with it.

Our guided tour to Nis with Tuni was fantastic! The small group size of just five guests and comfortable, air-conditioned transportation made for a relaxed journey. Tuni was friendly and knowledgeable, ensuring a hassle-free border crossing and comfort stops along the way. We toured the Ottoman Skull Tower, Constantine’s Mediana ruins, and the former Nazi concentration camp, followed by a great walking tour and free time to explore Nis. A highly recommended day trip for history lovers!
Nis is interesting and I enjoyed this tour. Our guide Lubo was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. After a previous accident, I'm not a fan of motorways and the speed limits in Bulgaria are higher than what I'm used to but Lubo was a great driver and I felt very safe in his car. We had long queues at the borders but he kept us in good spirits. I would avoid this tour during the summer holidays as I believe the border queues are rediculous.

This was a great day trip and definitely worth doing if you want to get out of Sofia and see something completely different. Our day started with a bit of unexpected circumstances when our driver had a medical emergency. Thankfully, the company handled the situation incredibly well. They made sure their driver received the help he needed and quickly arranged another driver so our trip could continue with very little delay. We really appreciated how professional and caring they were. Once we arrived, everything was exactly as described. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and did a great job explaining the history and interesting facts along the way. He even gave us recommendations for places to eat, which was a nice bonus. It's a long day, but the scenery and experience make it absolutely worth it. We'd definitely recommend this tour to anyone wanting to get a taste of Serbia while in Sofia!
