Erik was as good of a tour guide for a private Sound of Music tour that you could ever have. Fantastic experience and Erik’s mixing in of the real story and the Hollywood story was perfect. Highly highly recommend Erik and this tour!

We had a wonderful tour with Philip! Showed us all the Sound of Music spots. Philip also gave us historical information and pointed out other interesting facts! Could not have been nicer… would highly recommended this tour!

The guide was very pleasant BUT.... the tour would benefit from having screenshots from the film of the various locations - either printed out or on an i-pad. The guide seemingly expected us to have a photographic memory of each scene in the film. We were disappointed that the guide didn't take us to the various places in the Mirabell Gardens used in the film (other than to the steps). Apparently it was too busy at the start of the tour with the market and too wet at the end of the tour to include this and we were advised to go back later. The advertised itinerary omitted the need of the driver to divert to buying strawberries and having to drive to the hotel of his clients from the morning to return lost property. All in all quite disappointing.

At the same time, we are truly sorry that several aspects of the tour did not meet your expectations and that you left feeling disappointed. Regarding your suggestion about using film screenshots at the locations: this is a very thoughtful idea, and we understand how it could enhance the experience for many guests by helping to visually connect the real locations with the scenes from the film. We will gladly take this into consideration when reviewing possible improvements to our guiding materials. At the same time, our guides are trained to describe the scenes in detail and bring them to life through storytelling, but we understand that this may not always fully replace visual references for every guest. We are also sorry that the visit to certain areas of the Mirabell Gardens did not match your expectations. The gardens can be very crowded at the beginning of the day due to the market, and weather conditions can sometimes require adjustments later in the tour for safety and comfort reasons. In such situations, our guides must make on-the-spot decisions, and occasionally this means that some stops are shortened or postponed. We do always encourage guests to return independently to explore specific locations at their own pace when conditions are more favorable. With regard to the itinerary, we would like to clarify that while we always aim to follow the planned route as closely as possible, unexpected operational circumstances can occasionally occur in daily touring. These may include necessary stops related to vehicle logistics or unforeseen situations on the road. While we understand that this may have felt disruptive, such adjustments are made with the overall smooth operation and guest safety in mind. We are truly sorry that your overall impression of the tour was affected by these factors. Your feedback is valuable and will be shared with our operations and guiding teams so we can better manage expectations and improve communication during the tour. The tour was just lovely. Richard was knowledgeable and thoughtful. He knew a great deal about the background to the film and other interesting things about Salzburg. On an extremely cold day, it was wonderful to be whisked around in a warm comfortable car. The only annoying part was that there was nothing on line to tell us what to expect on the tour.

My guide had a wonderful knowledge of the history of Salzburg. I was taken to all the important sites for The Sound of Music and Mozart. I saw the important historical sites of Salzburg and learned of the different ages of Salzburg’s architecture. It was a very impressive tour.

This was a great tour. The tour guide showed us all the sound of music hotspots which took us through most of the town of Salzburg. He had great information and this oriented us to the city so we were ready to explore on our own the next couple days.
