Except for the heat (which obviously can’t be helped) we enjoyed our tour very much. Luisa was beyond knowledgeable and enthusiastic about all things Pompeii. Our family included elderly, teens, and a child and Luisa did her best to be patient and accommodate everyone’s needs while encouraging us to keep going. The private tour was the way to go so we didn’t miss any details, and we could take short breaks as needed. (The heat can be very overwhelming to older adults and children who aren’t used to it.) We learned so much and can’t wait to go back. Would ask for Luisa again! *Bring hats or an umbrella, sunscreen, water, and comfortable shoes for uneven surfaces!!
Mariagrazia was an amazing tour guide. She showed us all around Pompeii. She was very knowledgeable and the tour was very easy to book. I found this on Reddit and would was very pleasantly surprised.
Our tour was great. Maria was fantastic! She found us many shady spots to stop. It was a hot day out so we greatly appreciated her willingness to take it slow. Since it was just my husband and I, it felt really solo and private. We got to take a small break, use the bathroom, fill our waters. She was fantastic. Would highly recommend to anyone who wanted to book!!
Great experience with our tour guide Mariagrazia. She was a considerate, knowledgeable and caring host. Despite it being very hot, we made many stops in the shade, and to get water.

Our family of 11 (ages 10 to 77 years) had the pleasure of having Eliana Sandretti be our tour guide at the ruins of Pompeii. The experience was extraordinary! Eliana met us at a pre-arrange spot, told us a little about herself and her long, deep involvement at Pompeii. She got to know us and our goals for this, our first visit to Pompeii. The next 3-3.5 hours were delightful. The day was hot; Eliana sought shade when she could and paced the tour perfectly. We saw the important sites, giving us a detailed, interesting, fun look at life in Pompeii, as well as some helpful historical context. We left with a great understanding of Pompeii and an appreciation for the incredible archaeological work that has already been done there as well as the amount of work yet to do. Eliana is involved with that work. The place is quite large. There is no way of adequately visiting Pompeii without a knowledgeable guide. This visit definitely whetted our appetite for a return visit —- definitely with Eliana! Highly recommended!
Mariagrazia was amazing and we really enjoyed our tour. She explained everything very well and gave tips and tricks that nobody else would have. We all had a great time and I would recommend you request Mariagrazia if possible.

We are a family of 7, and booked this tour as our last event in a 17 day trip across Italy... and it was the best experience with a guide we had the entire trip! We did a 3 hour tour of Pompeii with Eliana as a group of 8. Her knowledge, engagement and professionalism was second to none and we all were quite overwhelmed by her personal connection to Pompeii through her work. We were so impressed we then also booked a tour of the Archeaological Museo with her for the next day and a food/history tour. Eliana was able to connect with those in their 20s and 50s amongst our group. I can highly recommend her for any private tour.
