Set på toppen av en trädtäckt knoll 27m hög, Wat Phnom är den enda kullen i staden. Enligt legenden uppfördes den första pagoden på denna sida 1373 för att hysa fyra statyer av Buddha deponerade här av Mekongens vatten och upptäckt av ett kvinnnamn, Penh.
Kungliga slottet innehåller några spektakulära byggnader. Inte minst är tronen Hall, som ligger till vänster om huvudentrén. Det har ett 59 meter högt torn. Tornet taket är vackert, har dekorativt tiered med guldfärgade kakel. Denna byggnad används för höga officiella fester, kronor och publik med utländska dignitarier och statliga tjänstemän. Kungliga statskassan och Napoleon II villa ligger söderut till Royal Throne Hall.
På vägen tillbaka från Wat Phnom-templet (pagoden), kommer vi att njuta med utsikten över Mekong eller Mekongfloden, är en gränsöverskridande flod i Östasien och Sydostasien. Det är världens tionde längsta flod och den sjätte längsta i Asien.[2] Dess beräknade längd är 4 909 km (3 050 mi),[2] och den dränerar ett område på 795 000 km2 (307 000 sq mi) och släpper ut 475 km3 (114 cu mi) vatten årligen.[3] Från den tibetanska platån rinner floden genom Kina, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Kambodja och Vietnam. De extrema säsongsvariationerna i flödet och förekomsten av forsar och vattenfall i Mekong gör navigeringen svår. Ändå är floden en viktig handelsväg mellan västra Kina och Sydostasien.
Sisowath Quay (Khmer: តីរវិថី ព្រះស៊ីសុវត្ថិ, Preah Sisowath Quay) är en 3-kilometer lång affär med barer, restauranger vid floden, kaféer, restauranger och barer. Remsan är fylld med försäljare och lokalbefolkning och är populär bland turister. Delen framför palatset användes för att titta på båttävlingar under vattenfestivalen. Foreign Correspondents' Club of Cambodia ligger längs remsan. Kajen är uppkallad efter kung Sisowath av Kambodja.
Norodom Sihanouk Memorial är ett monument till minne av före detta kung Norodom Sihanouk beläget i Phnom Penh, Kambodja. Bronsstatyn är 4,5 meter hög och är inrymd under en 27 meter hög stupa i parken öster om självständighetsmonumentet.
En Angkorian stil torn, den oändliga platsen i hela staden, beläget i hjärtat av huvudstaden. Det byggdes 1958 till Sybilles Cambodian Independence Day efter att ha vunnit tillbaka sitt oberoende från det franska protektoratet den 9 november 1953.
År 1975 blev Tuol Svay Prey High School övertaget av Pol Pots säkerhetsstyrka och omvandlas till ett fängelse som kallas Security Prison 21 (S-21). Det blev snart det största centret för internering och tortyr i landet. Över 17 000 personer som hölls vid S-21 togs till utrotningslägret vid Choeung Ek för att bli verkställt. fångar som dog under tortyr begravdes i massgravar i fängelsegrunderna. S-21 har omvandlats till Tuol Sleng-museet, som tjänar som ett testamente mot Khmer Roughs brott.
Mellan 1975 och 1978 transporterades omkring 17 000 män, kvinnor, barn och spädbarn (inklusive nio västerlänningar), kvarhållna och torterade i S-21-fängelset (nu Tuol Sleng Museum), till utrotning i död för att undvika att slösa bort dyrbara kulor. Resterna av 8985 personer, varav många var bundna och bindeföljade, utplånades 1980 från massgravar i denna en gång långa fruktträdgård; 43 av de 129 kommunala gravarna har här lämnats orörda. Fragment av humant ben och bitar av tyg är utspridda runt de otaliga groparna. Över 8000 kranier, ordnade efter kön, är synliga bakom de tydliga glasskivorna i Memoral Stupa, som uppfördes 1988. Kämpningsområdena Choeung Ek ligger 15 km från centrala Phnom Penh. För att komma dit, ta Monireth Blvd sydväst ut ur staden från Dang Kor Market buss depå. Platsen är 8,5 km från bron nära 271 St.. En minnesceremoni hålls årligen på Choeung Ek den 9 maj. Killing Fields of Cheung Ek ligger 15 kilometer sydväst om Phnom Penh och kändes av filmen med samma namn "Killing Field". Det var en plats där mer än 17 000 civila dödades och begravdes i massgravar. många av dem transporteras här efter frihetsberövande och tortyr i Toul Sleng. Denna plats är en chillande påminnelse om brutaliteterna i den folkmordliga Khmer Rouge-regimen. I mitten av området finns en 17-talets glasstupa som rymmer 8000 kranier utplånade från massgravar. Öppet dagligen.Note: Både Tuol Sleng Museum och Killing Fields utställningar kan vara störande för vissa och är inte lämpliga för yngre barn och vuxna som lätt chockas.
Wat Preah Keo Morakot (Silver Pagoda) ligger i den södra delen av Royal Palace-komplexet. Pagoden var tidigare känd som Wat Uborsoth Rotannaram eftersom det var där kungen tillbad, bad och övade varje buddhistisk Silasdag.
Central Market är ett art déco-landmärke i Phnom Penh, Kambodjas huvudstad. Den ljusgula byggnaden som stod färdig 1937 har en 26 meter hög central kupol, med fyra höga armar med valvtak som förgrenar sig diagonalt över kvarteret och skapar stora korridorer med otaliga stånd och alla typer av varor.

I had an amazing day seeing the sights of Phnom Penh with my guide Maroth. He is very knowledgeable and gave me some good insights into Cambodian history and the significance of the places we visited. Lunch, which was included in the tour, was a preset menu and was delicious at a waterfront restaurant. We even saw toucans in flight at Wat Phnom! We ended the tour at the Central Market and I found some great bargains. All in all, a memorable day! Highly recommend this tour and Maroth as your guide.

A full-day tour in Phnom Penh with car, driver and guide which provided a great experience for us. With not a lot of time to spend in the Cambodian capital, this was the ideal way to make the most of it. Our guide was excellent. A bonus for us, as Kat is not available during the working week and we took the tour on a Sunday. A bonus because Kat is both professionally qualified not just as a guide but also in areas concerned with tourism in Cambodia. All the places described in the itinerary were well accommodated, plus we were able to flex arrangements to be able to and see things that we specifically wanted to. We recommend this tour and the service provided by the tour company.

I lucked out and ended up getting a private tour for the day, even though I expected a group! So easy with hotel pickup and drop off, and my guide and driver were phenomenal. Courteous, safe driver and sweet and knowledgeable guide. She never made me feel too rushed and even allowed me to shop at the market by myself, so no pressure there to buy or not buy. She was also a certified guide and gave me tremendous insight into the Royal Palace. Another friend of mine went to the palace on her own and when we compared notes at dinner, I had learned so much more from my guide that my friend was jealous and said she wished she'd booked this tour too; she'd just walked through without any context. WELL worth the cost and you'll have an incredible experience.

We had a private driver and tour guide for the day. Went to all the places as per the advert and explained everything. The Palace as beautiful the killing fields was very upsetting and something that I had never heard of before today. Food at the restaurant was brilliant as well

Thoroughly enjoyed this tour. You get a real feel for the history of the city. The Palace is very impressive and I would recommend visiting the museum as well.

We had a great day, the tour guide was very informative. We saw everything that there was to see in Phnom Penh. We were dropped off right outside each museum/ temple and he was there when we wanted to leave. Great tour
