Phnom Penhs tidiga morgonsurr omkring dig när du väntar i hotellets lobby, ditt namn på en glad ”välkomstskylt” som hålls av din chaufför. Femton minuter före avgång leds du in i ett bekvämt, luftkonditionerat fordon på väg till Siem Reap. Under de kommande 5–6 timmarna glider du genom Kambodjas föränderliga landskap – risfält, byar och bar himmel – med avkopplande toalett- och kaffepauser strödda längs vägen.
Angkor Wat, byggt ca 1150 av kung Suryavarman II, är ett monumentalt hinduiskt-buddhistiskt tempelkomplex nära Siem Reap. Den täcker cirka 160 ha och är berömd för sin femtornssilhuett, vidsträckta vallgrav och intrikata basreliefer föreställande gudar och episka berättelser.
Angkor Thoms södra port (slutet av 1100-talet till början av 1200-talet) är den bäst bevarade ingången till den muromgärdade staden. Flankerad av devas och asuras som håller nagabalustrader, har den 23 m torn med fridfulla ansikten snidade i Bayon stil
Bayon, statstemplet i Angkor Thom byggt av Jayavarman VII (slutet av 1100-talet till början av 1200-talet), är känt för sina ~37 stentorn, vart och ett prydd med enorma fridfulla ansikten. Dess gallerier är bräddade med basreliefer som skildrar myt, historia och Khmer dagliga liv

Ta Prohm (slutet av 1100-talet, av Jayavarman VII) är ett djungelklätt buddhistiskt tempel nära Angkor Thom, känt för sina massiva träd och rötter sammanflätade med mossiga ruiner. Lämnad i stort sett orestaurerad, framkallar den en "uråldrig, övervuxen" atmosfär och finns med i Tomb Raider
Pub Street får liv med färg, musik och oemotståndlig energi. Beläget i hjärtat av Siem Reap, är denna ikoniska gata stadens nattliv epicentrum - surrande av liv, skratt och oförglömliga upplevelser.
Stig in i Siem Reaps pulserande själ på den gamla marknaden (Phsar Chas), där Kambodjas charm får liv i en färgglad, kaotisk och fängslande atmosfär. Inbäddat nära floden och bara några minuter från den ikoniska Pub Street, är denna historiska marknad ett måste-besök för alla som vill uppleva det verkliga Kambodja.
Eftermiddagen bleknar och ni sätter er till rätta i resan tillbaka till Phnom Penh. Resan tar cirka 5 timmar och anländer till ditt hotell när skymningen går in. (Obs: helger och kambodjanska helgdagar kan förlänga resan.)

I had a fantastic experience visiting Angkor Wat with my guide, Mr. T. He was incredibly knowledgeable, punctual, patient, and made the entire day feel relaxed and well organized. The itinerary was excellent and allowed us to see so much without ever feeling rushed. I really appreciated that Mr. T let me spend as much time as I wanted at each location and never made me feel like we had to hurry to the next stop. He also knew all the best photo spots and angles, which made for some amazing pictures! Breakfast was very good as well, and overall everything was thoughtfully planned from start to finish. Mr. T’s knowledge of the temples and their history added so much to the experience. I would absolutely recommend this tour and Mr. T to anyone visiting Angkor Wat with a short amount of time!

What a fabulous way to visit Angkor Wat. Yes it is a long drive but totally worth the effort. My driver was great with a seamless pickup and drop off and stopped along the way when requested. My guide at Angkor Wat, Mr T was very knowledgeable and also a great photographer. For those travellers based in Phonm Penh I would highly recommend doing this tour.

Kim the tour guide absolutely phenomenal. I learned so much about the temples, history, religion and culture. Kim was also incredibly informative and patient and helpful. he always asked and made sure if I was okay and if I needed water. Enjoyed our tour. The tour guide was knowledgeable and very helpful with taking pictures. The tour was quite a bit of money with the temple pass not included.
