Besök den berömda fästningen Nizwa. När du går genom fästningen får du se fantastiska vyer över den antika staden och de närliggande bergen. Denna imponerande fästning var en bas som användes inom militären för att hålla undan de hårdaste attackerna och belägringarna. Sedan Nizwa Souq, en lokal marknadsplats som erbjuder en mängd olika varor, inklusive smycken, keramik, fisk och kött. Al Hamra för att besöka byn där vi får uppleva hur lokalbefolkningen skapar en livsstil i äldre tider. Misfah al Abryeen här kommer du att få se det stora Falaj-vattensystemet som förser den närliggande växtligheten med vatten. Det finns många markerade vandringsleder i hela byn som rekommenderas att ta dig tid och utforska.

Vi åker från Muscat till Nizwa, cirka 08:30, Omans gamla huvudstad. Vi gör ett besök på den berömda fästningen Nizwa. Idag är fortet ett museum som visar upp historien om fortet med omnejd. När du går genom fästningen får du se fantastiska vyer över den antika staden och de närliggande bergen. Denna imponerande fästning var en bas som användes inom militären för att hålla undan de hårdaste attackerna och belägringarna.
Bredvid fästningen ligger den stora Nizwa Souq, en lokal marknadsplats som erbjuder en mängd olika varor, inklusive smycken, keramik, fisk och kött.
Därefter tar vi av till Al Hamra för att besöka den gamla byn där vi får uppleva hur lokalbefolkningen skapar en livsstil i äldre tider.
Efter denna snabba rundtur går vi vidare till Misfah al Abryeen, en verkligt orörd by som ligger inbäddat vid basen av Jebel Shams. Här får du se det stora vattensystemet Falaj som förser den närliggande växtligheten med vatten. Det finns många markerade vandringsleder i hela byn som rekommenderas att ta dig tid och utforska. Sent på eftermiddagen åker vi tillbaka till Muscat, Oman.

A great day out in Nizwa, starting with a visit to the old city and the fort, which offered fascinating insight into the region’s history and culture. The trip continued on to Al Hamra and Misfah, both of which were highlights with their traditional architecture and scenery. Our family had a wonderful 5 night trip in Oman. We booked our itinerary with Star Tour Oman and our guide:Khalid AlRaqadi was amazing! He catered our experience to our needs and was patient with our children. We had an amazing time hiking Wadi Shab, exploring Nizwa and touring through Muscat. My mum and I spent three incredible days with our tour guide Ali and learned that saying goodbyes was much harder than we expected! :) Ali looked after us really well every day and treated us with the most delicious Karak chai on the way to all different beautiful places. We started with a Muscat tour, continued with the Wadi Bani Khalid and Wahiba Sands the next day and finished our three-day experience with Nizwa and Misfat Al Abriyeen tour. The tours were truly fascinating, everything was incredibly well-planned, communication was very smooth from the beginning: starting from scheduling the trips with the fantastic assistance of Roda and finishing with Ali constantly keeping in touch with us, always being so accommodating and hospitable throughout the whole time. We cannot thank you enough for such a warm welcome to Oman and we know we will be back inshAllah! شكرا جزيلا and see you soon Ali!
