Avresa på morgonen från Muscat kör vi mot till Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque är byggd av 300 000 ton indisk sandsten. Den huvudsakliga musallan eller bönehallen är kvadratisk och 74,4 gånger 74,4 meter (244 gånger 244 fot) med en central kupol som reser sig till en höjd av 50 meter (160 fot) över golvet. Kupolen och huvudminareten (90 meter (300 fot)) och fyra flankerande minareter (45,5 meter (149 fot)) är moskéns främsta visuella egenskaper. Huvudmusallan rymmer över 6500 tillbedjare, medan dammusallan rymmer 750 tillbedjare. Den yttre asfalterade marken rymmer 8 000 gudstjänstbesökare och det finns ytterligare utrymme tillgängligt på innergården och gångarna, vilket ger en total kapacitet på upp till 20 000 gudstjänstbesökare. Moskén är byggd på en plats som upptar 416 000 m2 (4 480 000 sq ft),[4] och komplexet sträcker sig till att täcka ett område på 40 000 m2 (430 000 sq ft). Den nybyggda stora moskén invigdes av sultanen av Oman den 4 maj 2001 för att fira 30 år av hans regeringstid
Nakhal Fort Photo Stanna utanför endast på grund av under renovering. Sväng sedan i land till den berömda fästningen Nakhal. Det ligger vid foten av bergen i en trevlig liten by som odlar omfattande dadelpalmplantager. Denna magnifika 350 år gamla fästning reser sig ur bergsklippan och tornar högt över den gamla byn som om den fortfarande varnar angripare för dess olycksbådande styrka. Den har bevittnat många strider och är full av dolda flyktvägar och hemliga passager. Du kan strosa runt på insidan av denna restaurerade fästning och besöka alla rum som har inretts fint i den ursprungliga gamla stilen. Utsikten från toppen av fästningen över bergen och gröna dadelplantager är enastående.
Nakhal Hotspring Efter fästningen kör vi genom den gamla byn Nakhal till de varma källorna. Här hittar du en vacker liten grön Wadi. Den lilla floden i Wadi har varmt källvatten, som du kan bada fötterna i. Här kommer du att se massor av lokalbefolkningen som kommer för att ta en promenad i det varma flodvattnet.
Då ligger 2 000 meter över havet och i västra Hajarbergen Wakan by, en liten bergsby med vackra terrasserade trädgårdar med utsikt över de omgivande bergen ovanför och Wadi Mistal nedanför. Byn Wakan är officiellt en del av Wilayt Nakhal i södra Batinah Governorate, även om den ligger precis vid gränsen till Al Dakhiliyah Governorate genom Al Hajar bergskedja.

This was a great tour, combining a visit to Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque with several spots outside Muscat. Wakan Village in particular felt like a hidden gem as we hadn’t seen too many tours that went there, but it was absolutely worth the visit. Our guide Musab was also very friendly and ensured we had a good amount of time at each location. We’d definitely recommend this tour.

My 3rd tour with the company and more to go🤎we booked the tour 1 day prior because we really want to go to this Wakan Village and again Star tours never failed to arrange it for us. The tour was challenging for the weak-hearted I guess but we accepted the challenge and finished it to the top, my legs are proud they did it😅.

The walk through Wakan village was a delight. The views were stupendous and the way of life there quite an eye opener. The tour followed the advertised program exactly and timings were correct and generous. The driver /guide, Yahya, was friendly, informative and helpful. All in all a very successful day.

A wonderful trip we had to see the place of wakan village there’s a lot of mixed plants like grapes and a lot of apricot trees and there’s local people who’s living there some people are selling honey and some vegetables from their plants. To see the views from the top is really amazing.

We visited the place of Nakhal fort photo stop outside only because the fort still under renovations then next we had visited the Nakhal hotspring and from there we enjoyed the free foot spa from the small fishes. Then our last visited was the beautiful nature of wakan village. Our guide was helpful to carry our things while we are walking around 700 steps

Good way to view the interior and find a sense of solitude and views. Nakhal fort was undergoing restoration at time of visit so that was disappointing and the springs are nothing special - probably the option of Al Jabrin/Nizwa/Bahla might have been better. Driver Abdul, whilst late in arrival, was upbeat throughout and ready to answer any questions. Organised a good cheap lunch in Nakhal. Vehicle used was good quality 4WD,

I appreciate you reaching out and am sorry if you felt disappointed for the Nakhal Fort but from the beginning dear when we received your booking with us we mentioned that the Nakhal Fort it will be a photo stop outside only because it’s under renovation. About the Nakhal Hot spring there’s something special if you try to swim because that fresh water is coming from the mountains and it’s a little bit warm, and there’s also natural Fish spa you can just sit on the bank pop your feet into the warm water and let the tiny fish eat away the dead skin on your feet. And this is one of the best Hotspring in Oman and the people they swim when they get sick to relax their body, it’s also good for the people who have skin problem. I will be sure to pass your feedback on, and we’ll work on improving our customer service in order to meet your expectations in the future. It was more than700 steps we did to reach the top the higher you get the better views to see. And we had so beautiful photos and videos from the top. You need to save power when you go to visit this wakan village and make sure you have the bottle of water with you. Tired but really worth it to see this village.
