n en dag kommer du att ha tid att besöka två fantastiska platser i vår region: Uplistsikhe, utan vilken det är svårt att föreställa sig den förkristna, antika världen i Georgien och Mtskheta, utan vilken det är omöjligt att förstå den tidiga kristendomens era och medeltiden. När du tittar på städer kommer du visuellt att spåra vägen som Georgien har gått från tiden för den tidiga bronsåldern till antagandet av kristendomen.

Vår promenad börjar A. Pushkin, M. Lermontov, P. Tchaikovsky, A. Dumas-far, L. Tolstoy och många andra. När du stänger av vägen kommer du att passera genom de platser där händelserna som beskrivs av Lermontov i den berömda dikten "Mtsyri" utvecklades och gå upp till Jvari-templet i VI-talet. Härifrån ser du en förtrollande utsikt över Mtskheta: " ... där det sammanslagna bruset, kramar, som om två systrar, Aragva-jetstrålarna och Kura ... "
Mtskhetas tempel Du besöker Svetitskhoveli-katedralen (Pillar of Life-Giving) - den patriarkala domkyrkan i den georgiska ortodoxa kyrkan. Bekanta dig med dess historia och viktiga händelser från det förflutna. Här är gravplatsen för kristendomen - Jesu Kristi tunika och profeten Elias mantel, liksom relikerna från St Andrew the First-Called.
Hedniska förflutna i grottorna i Uplistsikhe En kort väg mot nordväst - och du kommer att befinna dig i en grottstad i slutet av II - början av det första årtusendet f.Kr. Jag studerade en hel del anteckningar om denna ovanliga plats, och jag kommer att berätta allt det mest intressanta. Had a great day with tour guide Paata! Visited the oldest Orthodox church in Mtskheta, the cave town in Uliscikh and the amazing ancient defensive fortress on the mountain in Gori! Thanks to Paata, we have learned many new and interesting things! It was also time to take a walk around the local fair, buy spices, churchelas, wines. We had lunch at a restaurant with delicious local dishes! The tour was very informative and rich! Thank you, Paata!

We were recently on a tour with Paat's guide - and it was a real journey through the eras. The route is structured so that you literally go from antiquity through the Middle Ages and gradually find yourself in the realities of the Soviet past. It's really cool how Paata connects different historical periods into one coherent story - without dry facts, but with living details, legends and unexpected twists. Separately, I would like to note that the tour took place in a mixed group, and Paata led it equally easily and interestingly in both languages - Russian and English - without leaving anyone behind. Travelled by comfortable minibus for about 15 people, which made the trip convenient and allowed to see more places without rush. We visited Jwari, Gori, Uplistsikhe and Mtskheta - and thanks to Paata's stories, these places are revealed as a single historical line, where each era logically flows to the next. Particularly liked that the tour is not overloaded with dates, but more about understanding context and feeling time - history really comes alive. Paata is a charismatic and attentive guide who can adjust to the interests of the group and answers any questions. Definitely one of those excursions, after which you take a different look at the history of the region. I recommend it!
