Jvari-klostret är det georgiska ortodoxa klostret från VI-talet. Det ligger på toppen av berget och erbjuder en spektakulär panoramautsikt över den gamla huvudstaden Mtskheta och sammanflödet av floderna Mtkvari och Aragvi. Jvary-klostret förklarades som UNESCO: s världsarvslista 1994.
Den näst största kyrkan i Georgien Svetitskhoveli-katedralen ligger i Mtskheta, som är en av de äldsta städerna i landet och en tidigare huvudstad. Svetitskhoveli besöks ofta av pilgrimer över hela världen på grund av dess religiösa betydelse och begravningen av Kristi mantel. Tillsammans med Jvari-klostret listas Svetistkhoveli-katedralen som världsarv av UNESCO.
Vi passerar den historiska staden Gori där det är möjligt att stanna och ta bilder av huset där Joseph Stalin föddes och för sin personliga skottsäkra vagn eller besöka hans museum på din begäran (biljetterna till museet ingår inte).

Makho is such a great guide, who is knowledgeable, truly caring for his country and just a great person. My trip was personalized according to my interest and preferences. This tour was amazing! The archeological and cultural wonders were spectacular. The experience provided a very comprehensive history of Georgia, past and present. My guide, Gia, was not only very knowledgeable, but a great storyteller with an excellent sense of humor. Gia is also an amazing photographer! I typically hate having my picture taken, but he made me feel comfortable and look great. Awesome all around!

I spent a total of seven days touring with Makho, and I’m so glad I did. He is a wealth of information and works tirelessly to provide a deep dive into the history, culture, politics, and geography of Georgia. I learned far more than I ever could have on my own. He was also quite flexible with his planning, even while we were on the road, tailoring my tour to the things he could see excited me. He added extra stops as time allowed—places we hadn’t specifically discussed beforehand—making it clear that his priority was maximizing my experience. At this point, I consider him a friend, and I would very much look forward to seeing him again the next time I’m in Georgia.

You could really feel how much he loves his country and how proudly he promotes it. He was very serious about safety, with careful and smooth driving, and he gave us excellent tips during the tour as well as after. Everything was perfectly organized, making it an ideal experience for a family trip. We warmly recommend this guide and this tour!
We went on a 4 day tour with Makho Tours guided by Makho himself, and the tour from start to fiinsh was excellent. The tour was well organized and planned by Makho, and he also introduced us to the Georgia that many tourists do not get to visit, especially around the Tbilisi region. The personationlization, professionalism, and warm personality of Makho is what stood out the best. He always went the extra mile, and did more than any tour guide would. His explanations and personal experiences related to the historical sites, monuments, along with the different fables and culture added immense value to all the sites we visited. During the trip, he ensured that we as a family were comfortable and safe, along with providing insights and suggestions to make tweaks in the plan for the day that left us all happy. One would definitely find the experience worth the effort, and I would recommend Makho to anyone who plans to visit Georgia.
