My friends and I were so...

My friends and I were so excited to come on this tour - I wish I could give a proper review but unfortunately I can’t because the group left without us. After a morning of anticipating the Tuscan country side, getting dressed in special outfits and purposefully not eating too much in preparation for our fresh pasta, we arrived 5 minutes early to the meeting spot. As we were arriving we spotted the white van that would be transporting us into this beautiful dream land. Yet, to our dismay, this white steed left without us. We thought - surely they aren’t leaving without us… we were early to the meeting spot, and hadn’t been contacted by the company at all that they were waiting for us! We saw that the description clearly states not to even look for the white van, for they will know to recognize us. Perhaps the problem is that we look to much like locals, next time should we wear Hawaiian shirts and a camera around our necks to be clear tourists?! If you do end up booking this tour… tell the nonna we say hello, eat extra pasta and drink extra wine in our honour, and be sure to arrive at the meeting spot AT LEAST 10 minutes early.

This was a fabulous experience. Enjoyed the tour. The tour guide was great and very informative. Got to see lots of different animals and the vineyards. Had a great time at the wine tasting and making our own ravioli and pasta. The meal was delicious and amazing.

Great day out with wine tasting, pasta making and learning about the vineyard and olive grove. Nice agritourismo to visit too!

Not up to my expectations

I really don’t like writing negative reviews, but I have to be honest. This particular venue was very disappointing based on the description and maybe I read too much into it. There were several aspects that we didn’t cover while we were there. First there wasn’t any interaction with the farm animals? We had our 11-year-old granddaughter with us and that was one of the main reasons we picked it. The second part was the pasta making great but again I read into it that we would be eating our own pasta instead 18 of us made pasta and it was all put into one bowl cooked together and then served. No one really monitored people washing their hands or whether or not they were sick or anything. It was just just wrong in my opinion. so there are some positives. The host greeted us as soon as we got off the bus ushered us over to a patio, where we enjoyed a cold beverage, and we were given an overview of what to expect from there, we walked to the herb garden where again I thought we were going to be picking herbs to be used in the pasta making instead the host picked three different herbs passed it around told us what it was and how it was used we then walked up a hill and then down a little ways to where she fed some of the farm animals, we walked further down a very steep dirt road to some of the grapevines she explained the different types of grapes and what wine they went into. Then walked back up this very steep hill and down the hill to where we were given a video presentation of the vineyard. we walked up a hill to where we did the wine tasting I think it was six different wines, one sparkling, one white, and some reds. wine was good and the pairings were great. The room itself was very warm but OK that’s understandable. Then we walked up the hill further to where we were able to buy the wine and olive oil then back down the hill to where we prepared the pasta. the chef was excellent. He told us how to make the dough, how you started it, how you rolled and showed us how to shape cavatelli. Dessert was excellent service from him and his partner were really really good so depending on your expectations if you think you’re going be feeding farm animals it’s not going happen if you’re thinking you will pick herbs and use those in the sauce no if you think you’re going to be eating, just your pasta and not the pasta of a bunch of other people then again no so would I recommend this trip no not the way it stands today.

Not for foodies or experienced wine tasters.

This was a mediocre experience. It felt like a money making operation more than an authentic tour of a working farm. The tour guide was not part of the farm - only gives the tours. The “farm tour” was really just a walk around identifying herbs and looking at the pet animals - turtles and pigs. The wine tasting - while generous was not led by someone who really knows wines. We watched a movie about the winemakers. The wines themselves are natural wines. The “chef” who led our pasta making was a very young man who is clearly still learning his craft. The appetizers we ate - while tasty- were very basic- just cheeses with some toppings. I was disappointed that we did not do an olive oil tasting.

Basically disappointed

Overall we found that the tour itself, although good for wine tasting rated very poorly for the other aspects let me explain we arrived were greeted immediately treated to some cold refreshments, and given an explanation as to what we could expect we then walked down a steep grade to see some animals and stop at some of the grapevines. We then had to climb back up the steep hill, then down a hill for our wine tasting then climb back up the hill, then down some steep steps to get to the shop to buy the wine then it was another trip down the hill to where we prepared our pasta and here’s where it really got interesting we expected to make and eat our own pasta. However, we had 18 people they all made pasta then all that pasta was thrown into one pot so basically we ate not just ours but 17 other people’s pasta. There was no check on whether or not people had washed their hands before preparing the meal so that really really was not the right thing to do and it made a couple of us very uncomfortable. Now I will say that the wine we tasted was quite good. I mean we’ve had some better but overall, it was good. We did buy some and hopefully will enjoy it at home just as much the very positive on this would be the staff the guide the bus driver the chef all were excellent, but the way the description is laid out first no indication that there were steep hills up and down second our 11 year-old granddaughter expected to be able to interact with the animals and that just didn’t happen at all as a matter of fact, some of the animals weren’t even pointed out as we walked the grounds so you can take the positives from this or you can take some negatives it’s entirely up to you

Incredibly worth it!

This was an absolute incredible experience! From pick up to drop off it was well worth it. Our guide Christina was delightful and I learned so much! Even though I went solo I never felt uncomfortable. Meeting the other guests from around the world was also a highlight of the experience. I definitely had bottles of vino and olive oil shipped home too!

Perfect Combination of Experiences!

I had such a wonderful time at the farm! My friend wanted to do one of those generic wine tours where you visit 3 wineries and do the same thing over & over (& over); I’m SO glad I was able to convince her to give this one a shot instead! I believe there were ~15 in our group, but our host Noemi (hope I spelled that right!) did such a wonderful job at bringing us all together. I was surprised that it ended up being multiple hosts who work for the owner of the farm—we never actually met the owner (apparently he’s a singer/songwriter and that’s not his main home). But maybe that’s for the best, because again, Noemi was absolutely phenomenal. Perfect pacing, very knowledgeable, and really made us feel right at home. Highly recommend!
