Medici i Florens: en historia om pengar, makt och skvaller!

När du går från ena änden av stadens centrum till den andra kommer vi att göra dig passionerad för de mycket privata evenemangen för en av de mest kända familjerna i historien: Medici. Vi kommer att tillbringa två timmar i balansen mellan skvaller och sanning, vi kommer att prata om kända och okända människor, vi kommer att ta itu med det heliga och det vanliga. Från piazza Santissima Annunziata till Palazzo Pitti kommer det inte att finnas tid att bli uttråkad! Passerar förbi Palazzo Medici, familjens första ädla residens, och vi stannar vid kyrkan San Lorenzo, byggd efter deras smak och storlek. När vi kommer till katedralen kommer vi att upptäcka familjens inblandning i skapandet av det som fortfarande anses vara ett mirakel av renässansarkitekturen: Brunelleschis kupol. Härifrån når vi hjärtat av stadens politiska makt, Palazzo Vecchio, och när vi korsar den äldsta bron i Florens kommer vi fram till Medici-ambitionen: Palazzo Pitti.

Medici familjekyrka, designad och byggd av Filippo Brunelleschi
Stadens religiösa centrum. Här kommer vi att se utifrån katedralen Santa Maria del Fiore och baptisteriet San Giovanni.
Florens politiska centrum, ett extraordinärt friluftsmuseum.
Här avslutar vi vår turné, framför Palazzo där familjen Medici bodde i över två århundraden.

I thought they took my money but I found it. I want to remove that from my original review . I still think it doesn’t live up to a 5 star rating. Little service. No turn down. Bathroom tiny.
Hallo! I believe that you have mistaken the tour with the hotel. We are tour guides and we provide tours, not a hotel. It would be nice you could remove this review as it is not for us. Thank you
Federico was amazing in all of her knowledge about the tour. She walked us through all the important places and explained in detail how each building and history it portained to the Medici family. Answered questions and was patient.

The details you don't know and so much they say. As a family was able to gather so much power and also share it with their community.
Given a precipitously announced rail strike, need to change dates to the following day. Even though there were no tours covering the same content for the next dat, the representative at Viator found one for us: Antonio Bencista. He was stellar, providing detailed history of everything Medici. What's more, my wife and I were his sole students. In addition to providing us with precise background information about the Medici family, he encouraged and was able to answer any questions we dreamed up, about the Medici's, Florence, Italy or Italy's place & perspective at any point in world history. Outstanding. Of note, Viator did NOT charge us a penalty fee for the needed change in tour dates (unlike Crown Tours who slapped us with a 65 euro/pp fee for a date change necessitated by the same rail strike).

Our DAR Chapter went. There were 10 of us. We all love history. You can't beat the ticket price. The Director of Meadow Garden was our tour guide. She was so professional, knowledgeable and very sweet. So glad that we went. There are lots of good restaurants close by. There was plenty of free parking. They are open M-F but a group can schedule a tour on Saturday if needed. That is what we did.
