Jesus was the chef I got to work with. He was patient, informative, and knowledgeable about the history or Peruvian food. I would book with him again!
We took a cooking class from Peruvian Cusco Flavors with Chef Jesus. Start to finish it was a 5/5 star rating. Communication was clear. They sent me a message the day before-clarifying the meeting point and time. In addition, Chef Jesus sent a message via WhatsApp as well to f/u an hour prior to the scheduled meet up. Highly appreciated and considerate. Very responsive when I messaged him back. He took us around the San Pedro Market, explained everything and had some fruit/cheese/chocolate tasting. Walked to the cooking class studio right after. The studio was very clean and organized. He showed us how to make a pisco sour using passion fruit (so tasty!), papa ala huancayna and lomo saltado (both very flavorful). Chef Jesus made it such a chill vibe-it was like hanging/cooking with your brother but more patient lol! He showed us how to cut the proper way to cut the fruit and veggies, plate the food, and decorate the pisco sour too! We lucked out as we happened to be the only ones at that time. We had a super fun experience learning with Chef Jesus at Peruvian Cusco Flavors! Don’t miss this one when you’re in Cusco🫶
I would really recommend this cooking class if you have some time when in Cuzco. Jesus was great fun, and taught us a lot about Peruvian culture and cuisine. Firstly we went for a walk through the market and he gave us an insight into the local foods and customs. We also got to try samples. The food we made was delicious. I would recommend to go a little hungry as the portions are big.
Shared a lot of information about the, where they come from how to cook them. Hands-on cooking not just a demonstration and the food was delicious. And I learned how to make a passionfruit pico sour.

Had a lot of fun. Great food and way to experience Peruvian food.
Thank you for the wonderful feedback! We had a blast hosting you. There is no better way to dive into Peruvian cuisine than starting at the vibrant San Pedro Market and cooking up a feast. Thanks for sharing your experience with the TripAdvisor community!
We had an amazing experience with Jesus for this cooking class! My husband has a dairy allergy and he was very accommodating. In fact, my husband probably would have never been able to try papas a la huancaina while in Peru if not for Jesus. You could really tell that Jesus is not only an experienced chef, but also cares deeply about providing an exceptional customer experience. We got to spend all our time on the fun part (cooking the meat, shaking the drinks, etc.) and no time on the not-so-fun parts of cooking; cutting onions, boiling potatoes, cleanup. I especially enjoyed the market tour, which I wasn't really expecting to be a highlight. He walked us around the market and explained key elements of Peruvian culture and cuisine. Even more than that, he allowed us to create some of our own experience - we got to try different fruits and decide which to use in our drink, try various chocolates, etc. We enjoyed it so much that we actually went back the next day to do souvenir shopping - much cheaper than the spots on the Plaza! We've done other cooking classes while abroad in the past that were really fun, but didn't actually teach us enough so that we could then recreate the dishes back home. With Jesus, I really felt like we learned enough to be able to make these dishes on our own. My husband and I are already planning to have friends over for drinks to show off our new Pisco Sour making skills!
Dear Lydia, Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We are thrilled to hear that your cooking class in Cusco was such a highlight of your trip. It was a pleasure for Jesus to host you both. We take great pride in making Peruvian cuisine accessible to everyone, so knowing we could adapt the Papas a la Huancaína for a dairy-free diet makes us very happy! We believe everyone should taste the authentic flavors of Peru without worry. We are also glad you enjoyed the San Pedro Market tour. Beyond just buying ingredients, we love sharing the stories and culture behind our local fruits and chocolates. It’s great that you felt confident enough to recreate the dishes and the Pisco Sours at home—that is exactly our goal! We hope your friends enjoy the feast you’re planning. Thank you for choosing us for your culinary adventure in Cusco! Warm regards, The Team at Peruvian Cusco Flavors

What a wonderful experience. We did the market visit and the cooking class. Jesus, the chef was very cheerful and had a lot to tell about the different kinds of Peruvian fruits and cheeses at the market. The dishes were very tasteful and easy to make. The place was spotless clean, thanks to Carlos. What a nice family run class!
