På denna tre timmar långa matresa får du utforska Quadrilatero, Mercato di Mezzo och det livliga universitetsdistriktet. Smaka på färsk pasta med fyllig bolognesisk sås på familjeägda trattorior, njut av handgjord tortellini, lagrad Parmigiano Reggiano, hantverksmässigt charkuteri och utsökt balsamvinäger – varje tugga är fullproppad med tradition. Para ihop allt med lokala mousserande viner, så förstår du varför Bologna kallas ”La Grassa” (Fettet). Piazza Maggiore, hjärtat av Bologna sedan 1200, är omgivet av historiska landmärken som basilikan San Petronio och Neptunusfontänen. Staden var en gång ett nav för handel och medborgarliv och är fortfarande stadens främsta samlingsplats.
Vi besöker en traditionell delikatessbutik, en lokal institution känd för sitt högkvalitativa charkuteri, där du provar olika typer av Parmigiano Reggiano-ost med balsamvinäger. I närheten ser vi skickliga damer, "sfogline", göra pasta för hand och du kommer också att prova det själv!
Kliv in i en historisk bolognesisk deli med rötter i familjetradition och hantverk. Upptäck lokala produkter av hög kvalitet och njut av en provning av klassisk mortadella tillsammans med hemlagad lokal focaccia.
Mercato di Mezzo har varit ett nav för smaker och handel sedan medeltiden. Bologna omvandlades till Bolognas första täckta marknad efter Italiens enande och återupplivades 2014 och erbjuder nu lokala mat- och vinspecialiteter.
Ett av Bolognas äldsta bagerier, familjeägt sedan slutet av 1800-talet och fortfarande bevarat sin ursprungliga charm. Upptäck en lång tradition av hantverksmässig bakning och njut av en provning av deras klassiska riskaka, en älskad lokal specialitet.
De två tornen är ikoniska symboler för Bologna, som markerar den antika Via Emilias entré. De byggdes på 1100-talet och återspeglar Bolognas tidigare makt och prestige, med en panoramautsikt och den andra känd för sin dramatiska lutning.
På en kvarterspelare i tre decennier, kommer vi att smaka äkta lokala smaker. Njut av en provning av rik Friggione och traditionell tigella (eller crescentina) toppad med delikat prosciutto, tillsammans med Lambrusco vin.
Denna historiska osteria fick sitt namn efter klockfabriken som ligger där. Njut av dess rika förflutna, från påvliga födslar till studentföreningar och gamla fresker. Njut av en provning av tagliatelle med bolognesisk sås, tortelloni i salvia och smör, med pignolettovin och avsluta med en espresso och en chokladtortellino.
Sedan 1700-talet har denna del av Bologna blivit en kulturell knutpunkt, med Bolognas universitet flyttade sina dekanuskontor till Palazzo Poggi 1803. Idag är det stadens studentkvarter, som blandar historiska byggnader med samtida gatukonst och graffiti.

Excellent stops at local establishments including observing ladies making tortellini then making our own! Great lunch at restaurant with their own home made pasta and wine! Returned to the lunch spot for dinner and to bakery to purchase sweets we sampled on the tour! Elena our guide was superb! Informative, knowledgeable, personable and entertaining with tons of history included. The length was perfect and the local venues small and family owned. Group of 7 was great. Highly recommend to include this on your visit to Bologna! 10 out of 10!

This was an excellent food tour. One of the best walking food tours we have taken. 3 hours of temping foods from Bologna. Our guide was amazing. Not only did we enjoy the food, but she provide the history of Bologna and the food. Highly recommend.
