Denna Salzburg Bike Tour är det perfekta komplementet till våra vandringsturer. Medan vi utforskar Salzburgs historiska gamla stadsdel på vandringsturerna tar cykelturen oss in i naturen runt Salzburg. Men cykelturen visar dig inte bara Salzburgs omgivning, utan tar oss också till några av de mest ikoniska inspelningsplatserna för Sound of Music och berättar historien om inspelningen av Sound of Music-filmen, men också den sanna historien av familjen Trapp i Salzburg. Vi rider längs den äldsta ståtliga avenyn i Centraleuropa och hittar flera slott som i historien användes av ärkebiskopar och adel innan de fungerade som inspelningsplatser för filmen. Vår mötesplats för Lonely Goatherd Bike Tour i Salzburg ligger strax utanför den gamla staden Salzburg. Därför tar det bara 2 minuter med cykel att ta sig från staden till den vackra landsbygden som omger Salzburg.

Frohnburg är ett av de slott som kantar stigen till slottet Hellbrunn längs "Hellbrunner Allee", prins-ärkebiskopens gränd. Frohnburg var slottet som användes för fasaden på huset i filmen Sound of Music. Numera tillhör det musikuniversitetet i Salzburg, varför du ofta kan höra klassisk musik som kommer inifrån.
Slottet Hellbrunn är höjdpunkten i Salzburgs omgivningar. Hellbrunn är mest känt för trickfontänerna, men Hellbrunn är också ett stopp på alla Sound of Music-turnéer på grund av lusthuset från 16-sjutton-låten från filmen. När vi kommer fram till Hellbrunn efter 5 kilometers cykling tar vi en kort paus för att se parken, palatset från utsidan och paviljongen och för att ta något att dricka eller äta om så önskas.
Leopoldskron, ett slott från första hälften av 1700-talet, och Leopoldskroner Weiher, en konstgjord sjö skapad för slottet, användes också i The Sound of Music. Leopoldskrons slott användes som baksidan av huset där Maria och barnen hängde i träden och där de kantrade med båten. Slottet ägs nu av den amerikanska stiftelsen "Salzburg Global Seminar". Parken är endast tillgänglig för gäster på Hotel Schloss Leopoldskron. Vi kan alltså inte besöka parken direkt, men när vi cyklar runt dammen får vi en fantastisk utsikt från andra sidan.
Nonnberg Abbey är inte bara det äldsta klostret för kvinnor i världen utan var också klostret från Sound of Music. Abbey ligger nära mötesplatsen för Salzburg Bike Tour. Därför kommer vi att gå upp till klostret innan vi avslutar turen. Nonnberg Abbey är något förhöjt vilket ger ytterligare en fantastisk utsikt över omgivningarna i södra Salzburg och över alperna i fjärran. Vi kan inte gå in i klostret men vi kan gå in i kyrkan och kyrkogården som ger dig en uppfattning om vad klostret handlar om.

Our tour with Johannes was a 10/10!!! He was very funny, engaging, knowledgeable and really brought the beautiful city of Salzburg to life!!! HIGHLY recommend this tour :).
This was a huge tick off my bucket list and something I’ve wanted to do since I first visited Salzburg as a poor student 44 years ago ! We opted for the bicycle tour as something a bit idiosyncratic and it lived up to all expectations. We bicycled through the most gorgeous countryside around Salzburg and visited many of the films iconic locations all the while to the accompaniment of the soundtrack with the added fun of group sing a longs ! I know it sounds corny but it was fabulous! Our tour guide Roberta was a complete gem and we enjoyed so many of her stories behind the scenes of SOM and Austria in general Has to be one of my fav days !

Brendan was our guide and he was simply delightful. We had so much fun visiting the Sound of a music sites via bike. The other patrons became friends and it was an amazing tour
This was my favourite tour of Salzburg. So lovely to be out on a bike on a beautiful day. You get to stop at the sound of music sites. Highly recommend
We were not sure about getting a Sound of Music tour since others were booked up. We lucked into talking with Gary, the bartender at our youth hostel, who told about this tour company and that he was leading a bike tour the next day! We were traveling with our two sons, ages 12 and 9. Gary made it super entertaining for the entire group of adults and the boys, including a quick jump into the canal for a cool swim. He was knowledgeable and shared pictures and great stories. The ride was the perfect length of around 2 hours. Also got some wonderful pictures. Thanks Gary!!

Brendan made this trip really fun! We had a nice ride to all of the highlighted locations from the movie, and even a few bonus stops. He gave some great behind-the-scenes information about the movie during the tour as well. You can tell he really appreciates not only the Sound of Music, but the overall culture of Salzburg.

The tour Guide I think his name was Gary or maybe it was Tim, was really enjoyable, had a nice conversation about wildlife really knowledgable guy about hippos funnily enough which are my favourite animal, any ways back to the point i would highly recommend this tour just to get out and see the place, the guide made it excellent touring

Gary from Cork was our guide and he was very helpful and reassuring as I was a little nervous cycling as I hadn't done it in quite a while. He has a huge knowledge on not only The Sound of Music but also the Von Trapp family and he was able to give the answers to whatever questions were thrown at him. It was a fabulous cycle and I was so pleased that I decided to do this...one if the highlights of my holiday in Austria

The tour guide was very informative and engaged throughout the entire tour. The scenery we biked through was absolutely beautiful and I learned a lot! I would totally recommend this experience to anyone!
The meeting spot was a little outside the town and the guide was unsure where the WC was, and that is probably a necessary thing to know. We did find one before we departed but had to find one nearby on our own. There was only one stop i didn't need to see and that was the pink flamingo colony. Other than that tour was great and guide very nice and shared great insights into the movie
