Kryssning på Siene och genom Paris kanaler

A great way to see another side and historic part of Paris. The host was very knowledgeable of the waterway and the history of the area and equipment. A must do

Pleasant boat tour along the river Seine and Canal St Martin. Started from the quai near Musee d’Orsay and ended by Villette Park. Small bar at the back of the boat for drinks and snacks. The chairs were placed in rows “loose”/unconnected to the boat so the space could also be used for dining or other events. The guide provided commentary in French and English. Occasionally he got distracted after providing the information in French so we didn’t get that information in English, but he generally did a good job.

Bring sun protection and sit on the upper deck. You can buy snacks on board. People start queueing about 30 minutes before departure time. We did the afternoon trip and Parc de la Villette was lovely plus it meant a grand entrance to the Seine. It might have been impacted by the noise of the other tourists but the commentary was difficult to hear. However the crew were lovely and were happy to answer questions. We sat inside because it was very hot and the experience was great. I think it would have been even more spectacular from the upper deck...on a cooler day.

If you leave from Port Solferino by Musee D'Orsay, look for Paris Canal boatslocked. museum side. We made the mistake of crossing the bridge and didnt see the boat until we were on the other side where the house boats were docked.

A really exciting tour through the many locks of Paris' canals - unfortunately, we couldn't hear anything the guide said because of a large group talking non-stop - despite being asked to be quiet 5-6 times. We approached the young man in the bar and asked him to tell us, as they were completely indifferent to us, but he seemed a little uncomfortable with the situation, so that didn't help either, so we left the table very frustrated and irritated, as we had bought and paid for a guided tour because we were genuinely interested in hearing what would be told, and we got no story/orientation from it.

Unfortunately, we were not able to do this cruise that we were so looking forward to. The storms the day before put us behind schedule and we arrived too late to be there at 10 a.m. ... you do indeed have to be punctual because of the lock passages. We notified them. PARIS CANAL and Tripadvisor were very professional and quickly refunded us. We wanted to highlight that.

The Canal tour was an interesting experience with an interesting part of Paris history. As there are 7-8 locks the tour boat takes you through which takes a large part of the time on the tour. Once you get to the Seine the tour goes more quickly with more local sights to see!

Very nice boat tour through unknown areas. Unfortunately, the commentary was extremely droned on and much too long; we would have liked to enjoy some quiet moments on the trip as well.

To make the most of this trip and make it experimental you should move to the front and to the back of this vessel to truly experience the locks.

Definitely book a boat tour on the Seine while in Paris, but no need to take the longer trip that includes the canals unless you want to sit for longer. The canal portion is interesting but slow, and if you’ve seen one canal lock you’ve seen them all. The boat was nice & the crew friendly, but I’d recommend a simple hour tour or even just taking a water taxi over this experience.
