Super friendly, informative tour with local company that goes out of their way to try to make sure you learn about the local culture and see wildlife if possible. Rhiana was terrific and even doubled back so we could see bears. I love learning about local life through he. Highly recommend!
Norman was extremely knowledgeable in everything. He does speak low and fast which is a little problem.
Riyana was very entertaining. She talks non-stop hahahha.. gave us a very good and personalised account of life in Ketchikan. We were very happy with at Herring Cove, seeing 3 black bears. The only reason I’m rating it a 4 is because I would’ve preferred to see the more popular totem poles with stories attached on each one. I would’ve wanted a bit more stories/commentaries about the totem poles.
the guide was really informative and nice. he took us to some cool places. I would recommend their service highly.
Norman was a wealth of information and made the tour very interesting. Very personal and professional! Great tour of the area. We were able to see several bears as well as a great view of an eagle. There were many salmon traveling the ladder when we were there. Great insight into native Alaskan culture. He truly has a love for Alaska!
The tour felt a bit rushed at times, as if we were running late on each stop. The views were nice though, our tour guide was on the lookout for wildlife during the entire tour.
The tour guide needs to either talk louder or get a microphone and speaker for the van. The people on the van past the first row could not hear him. He got defensive when I told him we could not hear him. We were supposed to see salmon spawning and did not see them.
If all other excursions are sold out, you might want to consider this as a last resort only. Really anti-climatic and a bit expensive for what you get. The promo photo shows a bear with a salmon in its mouth, but you're highly unlikely to see a bear.
Tour was okay. Could not hear or understand guide Shane while sitting in the back. He said he was yelling. When asked to speak up he got defensive and said he had asked others if they could hear okay. Of course being in the back, I never hear that conversation. I think he needs to rest his vocal cords. He is very knowledgeable.
It was a fun, informative tour of Ketchikan. We did not see bears but our guide did his best to try.
