Vår township-turné är en kurerad och unik upplevelse av Katutura - Windhoeks hjärta. Vi erbjuder sociala möten med lokalbefolkningen, delar en drink och en snabb och mättande måltid på den fantastiska Oshetu Market för några välförtjänta lokala delikatesser. Turen inkluderar inblick i lokalbefolkningens historia och kulturella mångfald, deras sätt att leva och vardagliga utmaningar. Du guidas av erfarna och lokala guider. Turnén genomförs autentiskt och endast med samtycke och sant möte med lokalbefolkningen. Du kan lära känna sociala gräsrotsprojekt, besöka en skola eller bara koppla av i en lokal bar. Våra guider möter dig vid startpunkten (Craft Cafe). Vi börjar vår tur med en kort taxiresa till Pionierspark - den tidigare bosättningsplatsen.
Vi kommer att köra förbi Old Location som var bosättningen för den segregerade befolkningen under Apartheid i Namibia. Människorna tvingades sedan flytta till norra delen av staden.
Turen fortsätter till den nya bosättningen som är känd som Katutura (platsen ingen vill bo). Vi kommer att köra genom olika delar av townshipen för att uppleva mångfalden i kultur och utveckling. Vi kommer att besöka ett socialt gräsrotsprojekt.
Vi avslutar vår turné med en sann autentisk upplevelse - ett besök på Oshetu Market i Single Quarters. Du kommer att få uppleva lokala rätter och promenera genom gatorna i Katutura med våra lokala guider.

You don't need a tour for that. Just take a taxi and go there. Not so much to do or to see. A local market.

Our Katutura Township Tour is designed to offer much more than simply visiting a market. Throughout the tour, guests explore different areas of the township with knowledgeable local guides who provide insight into the history, culture, daily life, and development of the community. A key part of the experience is the opportunity for genuine social interaction with local residents, businesses, and families, allowing visitors to gain a deeper understanding of life in Katutura beyond what they would typically experience on their own. The tour concludes with a visit to the local market, where guests can enjoy local food and drinks before returning to their accommodation. We understand that every traveller seeks different experiences, and while community-based cultural tours may not appeal to everyone, many of our guests value the personal connections and authentic insights that this experience provides. We had a great half day tour with Linda. We learned heaps about the history and historic places in Windhoek. Then she took us through Katatura and the market and sampled some delicious street food. Linda was fun to spend time with and gave us a great insight into the history and society of Namibia.we really enjoyed her company.
Linda is a great guide; she is very friendly and has a lot of knowledge about Windhoek and Namibia. The tour was very interesting, informative, and allowed us to gain a completely different perspective on the city. Highly recommended!

Our guide Linda is very kind and has a great knowledge about the history of Namibia. Very interesting to get a look at the origins of the republic and the different population groups. The tour in Katutura gave a good insight into the way of life and was, especially in the slums, quite a swallow.....
