Kapstaden: Soluppgång/solnedgång i Lion's Head

Vi ska vandra upp Lions Head, Kapstadens mest instrumentabla vandring. Vi planerar att antingen fånga solnedgången över Atlanten eller soluppgången från Hottentots Holland-bergen. Vi njuter av några fantastiska fotomöjligheter före vår härkomst. Under en solnedgångsvandring går vi ner i mörkret med våra ficklampor (medföljer). Under en soluppgångsvandring kan vi vandra den första delen i mörkret med våra ficklampor (medföljer). Även om vandringen betraktas som enklare än Taffelberget, innebär det fortfarande brant stenig och smal terräng på vissa punkter från ungefär halvvägs upp och ett avsnitt där användningen av stålhandtag och kedjor måste användas för att få upp två tonhöjder på cirka 3 meter vardera (endast upp och inte ner). Ganska äventyrligt. Denna vandring har varit en gammal tradition för lokalbefolkningen, särskilt under fullmånen och på klara / vindlösa nätter / morgnar där ljusen i staden nedan bländar och månen och stjärnorna visar sin skönhet på natthimlen.

Carmen was a brilliant guide for the Lions Head Hike. She was full of knowledge energy and always willing to assist. Would highly recommend.
The sunrise hike with Codi was amazing! The hike itself was short and sweet. It does get hard towards the top with steep elevation and narrow walking areas, but it’s 100% worth it. The views and time at the top is so rewarding. Codi, as a Cape Town local, was extremely knowledgeable and real about his Cape Town history. Loved getting a Capetonian perspective and he was so kind as well!
We had an amazing sunset hike up Lion’s Head with Codi as our guide. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the entire experience enjoyable from start to finish. He kept a comfortable pace, shared interesting information about Cape Town and the surrounding area, and made sure everyone felt safe throughout the hike. The views at sunset were absolutely incredible, and Codi helped make the experience memorable. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to hike Lion’s Head. Thanks again for a fantastic adventure!
Really enjoyed the sunset hike with Codi! It’s not too easy but also not too tough. Codi made sure to stop for hydration and photo breaks, and he was great company for someone travelling solo.
What to know: 1) it is doable going at your own pace. Just know that it is all uphill for 40-60 minutes. 2) starting before sunrise gives you amazing views of the city lit up in the darkness. 3) a guide isn’t essential, BUT going with a guide was MUCH appreciated. Idrees had information he shared about the culture, history, fauna, and flora as well as knowing great places for photos. 4) we loved the hike!!! 5) highly recommended!
Easy booking, great preparation and just a ton of fun. Carmen was an incredible guide for the hike. Her knowledge top, her vibe unbeatable. Felt as safe as one could be, can only recommend, you will regret not going on the Lion’s Head hike with her. She also waited for everyone to get home safely! Oh and great fotos and videos she took too.
Great experience with Kurt!! Very experienced and encouraging. Took awesome pictures for us along the way so we could focus on the hike. Opted for hotel pick up and drop off and communication was fantastic and everything ran smoothly. Was challenging in parts of the hike but Kurt made myself and our group feel confident and safe throughout.
We did a sunrise hike, guided by Codi. It was a very enjoyable experience and we recommend everyone to go on this hike! Waking up with a view like this is totally worth it! Thanks to Codi for this fantastic experience!

I had an amazing hiking experience up Lion's Head with Codi! He was incredibly caring and made sure every member of the group was doing well. Since it had been a long time since my last hike, his support gave me a real sense of safety, and we made it to the top right in time to experience one of the most fascinating sunrises of my life. Codi also shared a lot of great knowledge about the local history and culture, which was the cherry on top of an already incredible experience. I definitely recommend him!
