To Jervis and Back

The tour went basically the same way as described. Pick up at 0700, driving for an hour or so before stopping at an Wollongong overlook. After that we were driven to the Booderee national park to see the wild kangaroos and cave beach. The kangaroos were just hanging out by a campsite. Very chill, they’re probably used to seeing people every day. We had time to visited another beach before heading to Huskisson for lunch and the dolphin tour. It’s a cute town with diverse lunch options. The dolphin tour is in the bay. Apparently dolphins like to follow under to boat to catch free wave rides, almost like surfing. They were pretty social, and swam very close to the boat. Last stop was at Kiama, a cute little spot with a blowhole and lighthouse. Beautiful spot, rather popular. The drive home was relatively uneventful. My main suggestion to improve the experience would be to have more regional facts and historical information given during the drive there and back and out at the spots we visited. I appreciated that the guide gave us space to enjoy the natural beauty of the area, but it would have been nice to learn more about the places we were visiting. Jervis Bay or Kangaroo facts, idk. Comparing this tour to the other ones there was also no water or snacks. Other tours also pick people up at their hotels if located in the central business district area, as opposed to having one meeting point for everyone. That’s not a big deal and meeting at one central point did save time in the morning. However, the lack of regional information or water being offered stood out in comparison to the other Sydney tours I took recently. In any case, it was a beautiful area, I got to see wild animals, and everything written in the itinerary occurred. Can’t really complain.

Good value.

Despite the fact that the weather was not great (we were, after all, in NSW in winter) we thoroughly enjoyed this trip. Our guide was friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed the abundance of kangaroos (the kids were thrilled) and the beaches, especially Cave Beach, and the blowhole at Kiama. It was a really good day.

Kangaroos, dolphins and memories

Despite the wet weather the day was great. Tom our guide was welcoming and friendly and kept everyone upbeat even in the pouring rain. The kangaroos were adorable and the dolphins were stunning. Hyams beach didn’t disappoint even with grey skies overhead. It’s a long day but well worth it

The tour guide is more of...

The tour guide is more of a driver. There’s not much time to eat breakfast or lunch so best to eat breakfast early before the trip. And perhaps pack a sandwich for lunch. He stopped at the Kiama blow hole, took us to an extra beach at the kangaroo reserve and finished with a view point stop to see Sydney lights by night which is all not part of the tour. All the extras is what led me to give this 3 stars instead of 2. The experience though feels rushed and the driver is in the wrong business unfortunately.

Not worth the money or time

Long journey to find out the dolphin trip was cancelled. Apparently sea too rough. Alternative was to watch the sea for 1 hour. Saw around 12 kangaroos on a nonsense path walk to a beach that you couldn’t do anything on. 30 minute stay. We had a breakfast stop for 30 minutes then a toilet stop for 30 minutes and then a dinner stop for 60 minutes all before 1pm. Seamed pointless. We then got 60 minutes on the golden sand beach which was lovely but there wasn’t anything else to do there. A long and not well planned out day

Driving Australia

It was 3 hours of driving to get to the first excursion- The driver was very fatigued to start the day. Rubbing his eyes, his head, leaning on his elbows at lights. He did seem to waken after the first 2 hours. He wasn’t so much a guide as just a driver. The 3 hour drive home he did give us the add of the lighthouse stop which was greatly appreciated

Driver and or guide...

Driver and or guide looked disinterested and was just ticking box for itenary. Gave no history or facts associated with the location. Location in itself was amazing though.

It rained the entire...

It rained the entire time. The cruise was torture. We couldn’t enjoy the white sand beach because of the wind. We didn’t get to go through the national park because of the rain. We mostly just drove around trying to figure out what to do as the weather impacted most if not all of the activities. The provider should’ve cancelled and refunded the tour but didn’t.

I don't recommend it.

It is a long drive, 3 hours one way. It's just not worth it to spend half a day on a bus. The driver's English was mediocre and it was hard to understand him. His communication skills were lacking as well. We were sometimes confused what are we doing, where are we going, how much time we have etc. He was more of a driver than a tour guide. He was mainly interacting with 2 groups of people which didn't bother me, but telling them "we can go here or there, you decide what you want to do" was bizarre. The weather forecast for the day was rain, but they decided to go with the trip, because often "weather in Sydney is bad, but it's sunny in Jervis Bay". It wasn't. It was raining. So we didn't see any dolphins. We couldn't appreciate the beaches because it was raining and windy. Next time trust the weather forecast, cancel the trip and refund the money. Only good thing that made it not complete waste of the day was that we saw kangaroos on Cave Beach and could stroke them. Still not worth the money and the time in the end.
