Good tour, with obviously passionate and educated guides and an observant skipper. Getting to see whales and dolphins was a real treat. Small group size helps with viewing/photos and price is definitely worth paying. Would definitely recommend the morning visit as you can go out and view, get back, and still have the whole afternoon/evening to enjoy your visit—great length of time to see whales but not spend a whole day.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A massive thank you to Jonathan and the whole team at Whale Tales for an absolutely fantastic whale-watching experience today! We were travelling with our two children, aged 5 and 8, and they were completely ecstatic from start to finish. Our 8-year-old especially loved it and was convinced she was the captain for the day! 😂 The whole experience was incredibly well organised, and you can really see how much passion, knowledge and enthusiasm the team has for what they do. I particularly loved that Whale Tales is a small, family-run business — the staff were so personable, hands-on and genuinely excited to share the experience with us. Of course, there’s never a guarantee that you’ll see whales, but we were incredibly fortunate to have some amazing sightings. Jonathan did a fantastic job navigating us to the best spots and sharing interesting facts and fun little nuggets of information along the way. The girls were absolutely buzzing and screaming with excitement! A huge thank you again to Jonathan and the team. I would highly recommend Whale Tales to anyone considering a whale-watching tour. We had an amazing time out on the water with Whale Tales! The crew was professional from start to finish, opening with a clear, thorough safety briefing that made everyone feel comfortable and well cared for. Throughout the tour, we saw many juvenile humpbacks, and the team shared fascinating, insightful knowledge about their behavior and biology. On our way back to the harbor, we spotted two more whales in the distance. Instead of rushing back, the captain thoughtfully circled back so we could enjoy one final, up-close encounter. Photos of the whales we saw were even sent to us after the cruise, and they were way better than what I managed to take myself! While we didn't get to see any breaching this time, the overall experience was outstanding. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a memorable whale-watching trip!

What an absolutely fantastic trip right from the start to finish. The crew were amazing, and so informative and so relaxed allowing us to walk around the boat (it was a pretty calm day!). We saw several whales and then we were able to follow two that were migrating South across the heads of the harbour coming right out of the water and getting so close to them. What an amazing experience, highly recommended to book.

This was truly one of the highlights of our time in Sydney and an experience I will carry with me for the rest of my life. The crew was absolutely amazing—friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely excited to make the experience special for everyone on board. From beginning to end, everything was top notch. We were incredibly lucky to come across two whales playing alongside two seals, and the crew spent nearly an hour following them and giving us the opportunity to just take it all in. Watching the whales and seals interact so freely in the wild was absolutely magical. It was one of those rare moments when you realize you’re experiencing something you’ll probably never see quite the same way again. I went into this tour hoping to see whales, but the experience far exceeded anything I could have imagined. I will never forget that hour on the water or how incredible it felt to witness these beautiful animals in their natural environment. If whale watching in Sydney is on your bucket list, book this tour. The crew, the experience, and the memories were all exceptional. Five stars doesn’t feel like enough!

Whale Tales was an amazing whale watching trip. My husband and another friend and I had a wonderful time. The crew were very informative and we saw several whales. The 12 pm excursion is perfect as the sun was just warming up making the ride out and back perfect!
