With the shuttle being right at the cruise pier it was easy to get to the lagoon. The lagoon was not crowded and not touristy, many locals go to this lagoon. Beautiful view of the fjord. Changing rooms and shower facilities very clean. The drink selection at the swim-up bars is somewhat limited, but this did not lessen the experience. A very reasonable price especially considering transportation was included.
This is a relatively smaller lagoon, but beautiful scenery and clear waters. They have stone tables located through to set your drink of phone on so they won't get wet. They had fun drinks to choose from and a very relaxed atmosphere. My only complaint (if you can call it a complaint) is that the shuttle service to/from the lagoon/city center is rather haphazard. The have a time table on their website, but says they increase frequency during busy times, but they don't say what is considered a busy time and what the frequency may be. We waiting about 20 minutes to get to the lagoon and about 30 to get back. There was a long line to leave and it took 3 shuttles to carry everyone back, but there was only 1 shuttle running, even though a second shuttle actually drove right past us while we were all waiting. We didn't care since we knew we had plenty of time to get back to the ship and we were all still very relaxed from the lagoon and drink.
Our group ranged in age from 13 to 84. Everyone enjoyed their morning at your property. The free shuttle from the cruise port to the property was great although the line was long. We did appreciate that you took people ahead of the line based on appointment times. We would return without hesitation!
Easy to book. And the pier had free transportation. It was a little busy but not bad. Would do it again.
friendly staff. pick up and drop off were smooth. great location. the lagoon experience was well worth it!!
The free shuttle from the port was excellent and the surroundings beautiful. Loved this excursion We went first thing in the morning and there weren’t many people there
Great experience. So relaxed. Arrived at 930am and only a few people there. Staff was friendly. We were very relaxed and the views were fantastic.
Forest Lagoon, a modern and serene oasis, is one of our favorites. It’s the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring Akureyri. I highly recommend booking in advance and bringing your own robes. They also have a swim-up bar, which is a great way to end the day.
It was very hygienic and well cared for.
I had a chance to visit the Blue Lagoon, Sky Lagoon and Forest Lagoon while in Iceland. The Forest Lagoon was by far my favorite! It sits across the harbor from city center, providing great views of Akureyri. There’s plenty of space once you get into the pools providing you with an opportunity to spread out. There’s a couple of swim up bars, a cold plunge and a sauna – all very nice features to make your soak more enjoyable. We visited during July, the busy season…. The Lagoon was operating a shuttle to/from either the cruise port or city center. This was so convenient and saved us the hassle of finding a taxi.
