While the jumping crocodile tour itself was excellent, our experience with our tour guide, Ian, unfortunately let the day down. The tour started poorly when he arrived late to pick us up. We then had to turn around because another couple had been missed, causing an unnecessary delay that could have been avoided with better organisation. Throughout the day, Ian talked almost continuously. Some of the information he shared was interesting, but much of it felt unnecessary and made it difficult to simply enjoy the scenery and the experience. The most disappointing aspect, however, was his repeated criticism of Indigenous Australians. I found these comments inappropriate, unprofessional and offensive. Regardless of personal views, a tour guide should create a welcoming and respectful environment for all guests, and I don’t believe those comments had any place on a commercial tour. The final frustration came at Frog Mouth Dam, where Ian became so engrossed in a conversation with two women who weren’t even part of our tour that he seemed to forget about the rest of his passengers. Our group was left waiting outside the bus until I eventually had to approach him and ask him to unlock it so we could get back on. The wildlife, the boat cruise and the overall tour were fantastic, but the guide’s poor organisation and unprofessional behaviour significantly detracted from what should have been an outstanding experience.
excellent ! our tour guide was very informative as well as entertaining . the crocodile experience was great thanks to the guide tour there. lunch at the humpty doo pub was also not to be missed out on
Awesome! I’m so glad we booked this as it was our first trip to Darwin! Awesome photo and video opportunities Would highly recommend
The jumping croc cruise was fantastic! Worth the journey just for that, we saw huge crocs close up. The rest of the trip was ok but not great. The bus seats at the back have obscured view ( due to ads rising on the window - see photo), and Karen was very abrupt when taking names at the beginning of the tour. Her commentary was ok, pointing out places of interest and wildlife, but often hard to see what she was pointing out when she says ‘ over there’ or ‘ on that tree’! The tour is a bit rushed, with lunch at a pub where the food was average at best. A lot of money for a somewhat disappointing tour.
What a great day! Collected and bused to the Adelaide River - The Crocs turned on a great show, even the birds performed. Karen our guide was very informative on all things Darwin and NT. She even recommended other activities to do during our stay in Darwin. The day is about 5 hours, this included a lunch stop. I would definitely recommend this tour. Comfortable airconditioned bus, the boat was roomy and you are able to see the crocs on both sides of the boat that is shaded.
My wife and I initially had a boat tour on the Adelaide River to see some crocs and hopefully jumping crocs. We didn't see a single croc let alone jumping ones. The river was in minor flood which might explain why there were no crocs but it was disappointing. We had already missed out on Kakadu and Katherine Gorge because of the flooding. The next day we had a city tour with Tour Tub and Karen the operator said she would try and come up with something on Sunday with little notice. True to her word Karen contacted us and she had arranged an excursion to Crocodylus in Darwin. This was fantastic. The park was part farm, part zoo, part experience in a boat with massive jumping crocs within arm's length from the boat (I didn't practically measure). After what was looking like a very disappointing trip to Darwin for no reason other than the floods, Karen's going over and above her obligation to customers made our trip very memorable. Down south I'm used to hearing "not my job" "not my problem" but Karen was the exact opposite. Thank you
Thanks Kate for this day.simply everything one hoped to experience.Your knowledge and enthusiasm helped to make this one of our Darwin trip highlights. This is the tour operator to book if you want a Bonza day. Thanks Doug and Paola
It’ was more than we expected, having been on a few similar tour before. Pick up on time excellent commentary about the city The Adelaide River is full of Crocodiles and the really do jump! Fantastic lunch at the pub after
The Jumping Crocs and Humpty Doo Pub lunch Tour was a real highlight. Seeing the massive saltwater crocs leap from the river was unforgettable. Our Adelaide River tour guide was knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the wildlife and river ecosystem Our bus driver was also very warm and engaging and shared local knowledge along the way. Lunch at the iconic Humpty Doo Pub topped it off perfectly — great food and true NT character. Highly recommend!
This was another excellent tour. Our driver and tour guide, Ian was wonderful with explaining details of Darwin as we travelled to the jumping crocodile cruise. The cruise itself was amazing, our tour saw 2 juveniles and then one of the larger females before we encountered one of the male crocs (leftie) who has only recently been able to establish his own area on the river. The guide on the cruise was fantastic with her knowledge on each of the crocscwe encountered on the cruise. We then stopped for lunch at the Humpty Doo hotel for a truly exceptional lunch, I had the crumbed barramundi and it was terrific.
