Hells gate nationalpark är en av få platser där du kan cykla medan du tittar på vilda djur. Parken kan även nås med bil och till fots. Den korta vandringen vid ravinen låter dig se ikoniska vulkaniska klippformationer och varma källor. Senare besöker du även sjön Naivasha som har flodhästar, fåglar och utsikt över halvmåneön.

Hells gate är en nationalpark som ligger 115 km från Nairobi (2 timmars bilresa). Det är en av parkerna där du kan cykla medan du tittar på djur. Denna park har vulkaniska klippformationer; vulkaniska pluggar, huvudväggen och ravinen. Resan börjar klockan 7.00 där din chaufför hämtar dig från ditt hotell. Efter en timmes körning tar du en paus vid utsiktsplatsen Great Rit Valley för bilder. Körningen fortsätter sedan i ytterligare 1 timme sedan kommer du fram till hells gate. Här väljer du en bra cykel för resan och börjar sedan cykelturen med din guide. Det är en 8 km cykeltur en väg till ravinen. Din guide kommer att visa dig alla vulkaniska klippformationer och djur i parken. Du kommer också att se den ursprungliga idén till Pride-rocken i Lion king! När du väl är vid ingången till ravinen lämnar du din cykel och går en kort promenad där du ser ravinen och besöker en varm källa. Du får också se var mufasa dör (Lejonkungen). Cykelturen tillbaka till bilen följer.
Väl tillbaka i bilen kommer din guide att köra dig till Lake Naivasha för lunch följt av båtturen. Detta är en en timmes båttur där du kommer att se flodhästfåglar och se djuren på halvmåneön. Du får också se effekten av de ökande vattennivåerna på träden på sidan av sjön. Detta följs av körningen tillbaka till Nairobi där du kommer att släppas vid ditt hotell.

Our trip to Hells Gate was almost in jeopardy of not happening because of a communication issue with the booking company and the local tour company. Out of desperation, I did a deep search online for Ace Ecotours and I found Paul’s number. Within an hour of calling Paul, he arrived at our hotel in Nairobi and we began the adventure to Hells Gate. This tour was such a great way to unwind and start my weekend. My guides Peter and Gadaffi were very accommodating and answered my questions about Kenya. The bike ride is picturesque with rock formations and incredible views. The boat ride after lunch was also quite the treat. I saw hippos upclose and it felt like a true safari! I highly recommend this tour!

The trip to Hell’s Gate Park was quite incredible. It’s a pretty long trek from Nairobi, but worth it.we took (slightly uncomfortable, but working… they did the job) bikes into the park. We were assigned a (mandatory) guide who was excellent and had great stories to tell along the way. Our driver for the day was prompt, courteous and patient. His vehicle was clean and comfortable for the long journey along bumpy roads. The trip to the lake was amazing, take the boat ride, it’s worth it!

My Guide Peter was great and kept me motivated when I wanted to give up on the biking tour. Easy to talk to and has a lot of knowledge. It was nice to see animals while biking. My only complaint is that the tour was very expensive. I payed almost the same as the price for two people. But I quickly realised that most tours from Nairobi are overpriced when you travel solo. This does however not reflect upon my guide and experience as it is true for other tours aswell.

What a magnificent excursion! As soon as I was told that we were going down the path a bit difficult, I boarded. I love these kinds of adventures. Peter was a perfect guide. He had explained everything to me about what to expect and where. Going there by bike added fun and spice to the adventure, it's so much more pleasant than doing it by car. In my opinion, this is exactly how you should get there, you can enjoy nature 100%. Super nice trip, safe walking between antilopes and zebras. Lunar landscape and very hot - if you intend to ride a bike don't forget your 50SPF cream and water. The geothermal swimming pool is big enough to enjoy it even if many people were there too. Naivasha is a place to relax and enjoy good food, sleep, herbivors ( including hypos during the night) and monkeys coming on the terrace free of any restriction. Finally we didn't visit the island, but we seems that the place keeps alive the filming of "Out of Africa" (1984) and the animals brought there for the filming are enjoying for almost 40 years a nice life. The guide, Peter was very knowledgeable and prompt, safe driving, closing the circle of a very good weekend break. We recommend his services for a reasonably priced and enjoyable break.

I went on this tour with my girlfriend and it exceeded our expectations. The guide Peter was funny and knowledgeable and was willing to answer our questions throughout the day. He is also a better Driver than ever Uber in Town. The bike ride at hells gate was abit challenging but we saw animals and rock formations which made it totally worth it. During the boat ride we saw hippos and birds and it truly felt like paradise. Im definitely booking with this tour company again!
