Börja din Colca Canyon utflykt mycket tidigt kl 3 :00. Vi hämtar dig från ditt hotell i ett bekvämt, luftkonditionerat fordon för att påbörja resan längs Juravägen mot Chivay, en charmig stad som ligger på 3 600 meters höjd över havet.
Njut av en lokal frukost med färska, typiska produkter från regionen. Prova varmt bröd och kokate, perfekt för att anpassa sig till den höga höjden.
Anländ till den berömda utsiktsplatsen Cruz del Cóndor där du kommer att bevittna den majestätiska flygningen av den andinska kondoren sväva ovanför en av världens djupaste raviner och nå djup på upp till 3 400 meter. Lär dig om kanjonens geologi, rika biologiska mångfald och dess kulturella betydelse för lokala samhällen.
På återresan stannar du till vid Antahuilque- och Choquetico-utsiktsplatserna för att observera de gamla jordbruksterrasserna före Inka och deras bevattningssystem. Njut av unik panoramautsikt över Colca Valley och upptäck dess fascinerande historia.
Populära mattyper i Chivay Koppla av i naturliga varma källor med vattentemperaturer runt 38 °C och njut av terapeutiska fördelar i fantastisk andinsk natur. Efteråt kan du njuta av en läcker lunchbuffé med typiska regionala rätter.
På vägen tillbaka till Arequipa, stanna vid Patapampa utsiktsplats på 4 910 meter över havet för att beundra spektakulär utsikt över vulkaner som Ampato, Sabancaya och Hualca Hualca. Beautiful places and strong emotions watching the Condors soar. Points of concern: Vehicle unsuitable for people over 190 cm it was not possible to fit the legs in the space between the seats the only possible place: the last row, seat between the two rows, The excursion included pickup and drop-off at the hotel, the pickup was fine, the drop-off ended on a street near the center but more than a kilometer away from the hotel and when I pointed out that the drop-off at the hotel was included, the guide firmly responded "NO", so there was nothing left to do but to head to the hotel on foot with backpacks, not knowing the way, arriving at least 15 minutes later. in conclusion: the places definitely deserve 5 stars for beauty and emotions, the tour deserves 0 stars for the means of transport and behavior: so 2 stars are already a high rating.

Vey nice experience! Our Guide David was very nice and also he spoke Endlessly to us. Colca Canyon, great experience in Peru. But be just careful of altitude sickness after the Colca Canyon.

The worst tour I have ever been on. The tour guide couldn’t speak any English. The breakfast was a joke, 2 slices of cold hard bread, no coffee only hot water and 2 small instant coffee packets that 6 people had to fight for. Most of places we visited were tourist traps.

The Colca Canyon day trip delivers on its main promise — and those highlights are genuinely spectacular. Watching Andean condors soar above one of the world's deepest canyons at Cruz del Cóndor is a moment that stays with you. The views of the ancient pre-Inca agricultural terraces were equally impressive, and the panoramic lunch stop with a volcano backdrop was a lovely surprise — a clean, well-run restaurant that felt like a real highlight of the day. Our guide Erik was knowledgeable and kept the day moving well across a packed itinerary. The early 3am start is worth it — you arrive at the right time. A few honest notes for future travelers: the day does feel slightly overloaded with stops, and at times it edges toward a sales-tour atmosphere. The Aguas Termales hot springs were a disappointment — overcrowded and not particularly inviting, so we skipped going in. The breakfast in Chivay was very basic. Less might genuinely be more here — trimming a couple of stops in favor of more time at the canyon itself would make this a five-star experience. Overall, a worthwhile and memorable day — just go in with realistic expectations and focus on the condors and the canyon. Those alone make the early alarm worth setting.
