Jag heter Zura och erbjuder en heldagsutflykt till några av Georgiens mest ikoniska underverk, med början i Tbilisi. Jag möter er på ert hotell kl. 09.00, och vi börjar med ett besök på det sjätte århundradets Jvarikloster, ett viktigt religiöst centrum och arkitektoniskt mästerverk från det medeltida Georgien. Kyrkan tornar upp sig över Mtskhetas världsarvslista. Vi fortsätter till Svetitskhoveli katedral, gravplatsen för Kristi mantel. I Gori, Josef Stalins hemstad, besöker vi det imponerande museet över Sovjetunionens historiskt betydelsefulla Ledare. Lunch efter (ingår ej). Vi går sedan till Uplistsikhe, en gammal grottstad, en av de äldsta urbana bosättningarna i Georgien. Slutligen ser vi Georgiens krönika, det största monumentet i Tbilisi, med pittoreska vyer över Tbilisihavet. Du förs sedan tillbaka till den inledande mötesplatsen. Namnet på detta kloster översätts som "Korsets kloster". Jvari kloster är det georgiska ortodoxa klostret från 500-talet nära Mtskheta. Tillsammans med IT andra historiska strukturer i Mtskheta, är det listat som ett världsarv av UNESCO. Klostret Jvari ligger på den klippiga bergstoppen vid sammanflödet av floderna Mtkvari och Aragvi, med utsikt över staden Mtskheta, som tidigare var huvudstad i kungariket Iberien.
Ett mästerverk av georgisk arkitektur från 1000-talet. Ca 10 - 15 minuters promenad från parkeringen. Mtskheta, en av de äldsta städerna i Georgien, grundades av de gamla meschianska stammarna på 400-talet. UNESCO erkänner IT som en världsarvsplats på grund av dess historiska betydelse och flera kulturella monument. IT var huvudstad i det tidiga georgiska kungariket Iberien från 200-talet f.Kr. till 400-talet e.Kr. Mtskheta förblev dock att fungera som krönings- och begravningsplats för de flesta kungar av Georgien fram till 1800-talet. Katedralen i Svetitskhoveli (Den levande pelarens katedral) är för närvarande den näst största kyrkan i Georgien, efter Heliga Treenighetens katedral. Svetitskhoveli är känd som gravplats för Kristi dräkt och har varit en av de viktigaste georgiska ortodoxa kyrkorna och är en av de mest vördade gudstjänstplatserna i regionen.
Stalinmuseet i Josef Stalins hemstad Gori innehåller mer än 60 000 artefakter, det lilla huset där Stalin föddes och ett imponerande skottsäkert tåg som han brukade resa till Jalta och Potsdam, som du kan gå inuti. Observera att inträdet till Stalinmuseet inte ingår i priset för rundturen. Biljetten kostar ca 15 GEL och kan köpas på plats om du väljer att besöka.
Uplistsikhe går tillbaka till helinismen och är känd för sin unika kombination av olika stilar av klippt arkitektur, inklusive både hedniska och kristna. Inträde till Uplistsikhe grottstad ingår inte. Biljetterna kostar runt 15 GEL och betalas på plats om du vill utforska området.
Vi stannar till vid Chronicles of Georgia på vägen tillbaka. Det enorma monumentet har också otrolig utsikt över både Tbilisi City och Tbilisi Sea

Superb day tour from Tbilisi to a number of interesting sites, including the slightly surreal Stalin museum. Zura, my guide, was exceptional and made the experience both informative and fun. Highly recommended.
We decided to book this Tour to explore a bit more of the history and culture outside of Tiblisi. Zura was an excellent guide, we felt at ease with him from start to finish and we left the tour with a much better understanding and feel for the people, history and culture. Everything was on time, communication was great, car comfortable. Would highly reccomend you book this tour, you won't regret it and the context made the rest of our time in Tiblisi more enjoyable. I took my wife and kids to Georgia for a long weekend and we only had time for one guided tour. I'm glad I chose this one. We really got to see a lot of the attractions around Tbilisi. The visit to the Chronicles at the end of the day was amazing, as we had the sunset there. Zura is not just a guide and driver, he is a compassionate and thoughtful man with a great sense of humour. We had a lot of fun together and I hope to see him again one day. The Georgian driving style is a little different than what we are used to, but Zura navigated and drove in a manner that made us feel safe even though the other drivers don't really seem to follow any rules. Overall, it was a great day for both us parents and our teenagers.

Zura is a great guide with a lot of knowledge, but also charisma. He made the trip a lot more fun than what I can imagine most guides do. He is also a very safe and smart driver, especially compared to the average Georgian driver, which have a quite different driving style than what we are used to from Europe. Zura made sure we always felt safe on the road, and I highly recommend his service
